Comment: Ashland, OR is a cool town. Very liberal and artsy. I am very much into music and recording. Also photography. I'm from the mountains of Oregon (was raised with horses) and am closer to nature (Pagan) than people but I have some pretty fantastic folks in my life. Every day I get up is a clean slate to start towards something new. I have taken a year and a half off from working to develop my talents and I'll tell you, even though I am very busy all the time, there is something to be said about having the time to find yourself. I mean, really, really have the time to relax and do what a person would do if they didn't have all the trappings of modern day "just trying to survive". I highly recommend it. I don't have a lot of money, I just worked very hard to get out of debt so to do this. Someday I will get an RV and travel the world by hopping a ship with my RV and going to Europe and elsewhere. I hope to go from town to town and work for a while and see how the other half lives. My father use to say (though we were far from rich), "I wonder what the poor people are doing?"

| Jump to Survey | My spiritual awakening happened years ago and the one thing I have learned is I don't have to convince anyone of anything. I do have my opinions and voice them. And I try to make it short and use the "I believe differently". And I've met people who think they are way above everyone else in their spiritual advancement and they like to point it out which only points out that they aren't as advanced as they believe themselves to be. Live and let live. I worked for a famous spiritual author for 5 years and traveled with him and Oy Vey.... never again. He thought he knew everything! | | Jump to Survey | I think you are very intelligent. And as I had mentioned, If you have to say you are, then you aren't. You have a lot to say .... I'm just wondering who it is you really want to say it to. Who is in your core that never heard you to where you knock so loudly and lengthy. Why do I say this? Because I have been there, done that also and it was absolutely exhausting. Who is really the person or people you are really trying to "change their minds". | | Jump to Survey | To several of you passionate people (I think you are all so cool):
OK, with all the reading back and forth for arguments sake I only want to say two things I have learned from wise people: "There is no right or wrong, only that which serves you in the long run" and "If you have to say you are, then you aren't". When one pushes their ideas or agendas (Oh, yeah, I'm just as guilty sometimes) then maybe they aren't on as strong a footing as they think they are if they have to convince another to feel they are right or on the right path. So I stop myself when it comes to trying to convince another unless it messes up my world. Like destroying the environment. Oh, yeah.... also: "That which you resist persists". Lots of old goody sayings out there. OH MY GOSH... I just "have to say it", didn't I! So I must not be! :o)
My wise words (if I can toot my horn) I tell people who don't agree? "I believe differently". That way there is no negative words like "disagree". They can never argue that I'm wrong because it is my belief I'm talking about. :o)
(I had to repeat because I don't know how to respond to more than one person at the same time. Does anyone know how to do that?)
