Hello! Maarten is my real name and I 'joined' SC in May 1999. I am Dutch. That means I live in The Netherlands, not Germany.
When I was looking for places on the net where I could create my own surveys, which I wanted to put on my site, I found Survey Central. And I liked it immediately. On August 29, 1999 I created my very first survey. It wasn't a very good one, but it was in the pre-Qualification era! 
I live in IJmuiden, a little town 20 miles from Amsterdam right at the coast. I have a daughter: Laura. She was born on May 8, 2003.
In my spare time I love to go out with my friends. We often go out to the pub, a restaurant (preferably Japanese, Thai, Indonesian or Vietnamese), to the cinema or to one of the many clubs in Amsterdam, like Paradiso. Music I like is usually labelled as alternative: Sonic Youth, Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein, Björk, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins.
I am also a huge movie fan. I collect DVD's and own over 550 titles. |
