Jump to SurveyAs a lesbian, I live with my SO in monogamous relationship and we will engage in a union soon. Shouldn't all marriages be defined as "civil unions"?
Jump to SurveyI find this question to be based on a heterosexist perspective, and I am mildly offended, however recognizing that so much of the world seems to come from this bent. My real answer is: I am about to have a civil union up here in the hills of Vermont - a.k.a. defined as "separate but equal" to married.
Jump to SurveyThere are so many gradations of gray on just about every issue I can think of. To present things in paradoxes seems to separate people from each other - to opposing ends of the spectrum. Rather than look at our differences on issues, wouldn't it be nice if we rejoiced in some of our similarities as Beings, thus bridging the gap on issues like abortion, capital punishment, age-ism, ability-ism, racism, heterosexism, etc.
