Which way do you prefer to vote?

I presented three different voting schemes in these three surveys: approval, ranking, and first past the post. What do you like?

3First Past the Post
1I don't like any of them

I'm used to first past the post; it has its drawbacks, but on the whole I think it works fine, especially in what amounts to a two-party system. I'm not really sure what the pros and cons of the other systems would be, especially in the US specifically.

I think we should have a race. A real race. A 10k. First fat ass politician that can get to the finish line under their own power wins.

... and no having their 50 aids wheel them in their $2000 desk chair.

Exactly. And no bribing the officials to move the finish line.

Oh and no interpretation of what winning is.

I don't have a strong preference. When I studied politics at school, we spent some time looking at various ways of voting. They all have their pros and cons. I've forgotten much of what I learned then, but First Past the Post was generally regarded as best to avoid weak or coalition governments (though they can still happen, as we have seen here in recent years) and I remember thinking Alternative Vote Plus was the best of the other options. Oddly, I don't remember how (or if) I voted in the 2011 UK referendum on adopting of Alternative Vote (not AV+). It's unlikely that I would have failed to vote (I think I've missed only one ballot since I reached voting age, due to not being able to get to a polling station) and I suspect I voted to keep FPTP.

Well, not only did I vote against AV (via post), I even made a survey about it. Funny the things we forget.
