Vote for President (ranking)

2nd of 3 surveys about voting systems. I'm using the upcoming US Presidential election as a springboard but I want to compare three different ways of voting, so there will be three very similar surveys and then a 4th asking your opinion of them.

In most states there will be more choices than the two major parties so I've put some "third" parties on the ballot here too. Since we don't know yet who will be the nominee from any party, I've just made guesses.

This second voting system, called ranking, lets you list the candidates in order of preference. The Instant Runoff voting is a form of ranking but there are many possible ways to count ranked votes. In this case, it'll just be the Survey Central ranking algorithm.

I had to look up the Constitution Party--glad I did!

I based my ranks on what little I knew of each party as I'd never heard of the people in most cases for the 3rd parties.

I'm sure the Constitution party quickly became your first choice. smiley:::smile I wanted to include some choices beyond only the two major party candidates that most people seem to think are their only options and tried to find candidates (or their parties) who are likely to be on ballots.

They were my first choice for last place! Though it was a close call between them and Trump.

Hillary Clinton 1 (best) thumbs down to Trump and Bernie

This is easy, there are only two on this list I would even vote for. Trump, or Cruz if for some reason Trump doesn't get the nomination.

Trump number 1...all the rest number 10

My overall picks:

1 - Gary Johnson
2 - Hillary
3 - Ted Cruz
4* - Donald Trump
5* - Jill Stein
6* - Bernie Sanders
7 - J.R. Myers
8 - Mimi Soltysik

* - too close to call, I could have gone either way. I think Bernie Sanders edges out Trump in how much damage they would do if actually elected, by a hair.

My picks based on integrity alone, ignoring political beliefs (which to be fair, the grid lock in Congress would likely mitigate things)

1st place, 3 way tie between Bernie Sanders, Gary Johnson, Jill Stein. Say what you want about Bernie, but at least the dude is honest.

Hillary last place, then Trump, although thats kind of too close to call.

A tie between everyone else in the middle.
