Neither!
I don't handle heat well, and it's worse when humidity is involved. I'd feel ill upon entering either (and would probably pass out if I spent more than 10 minutes in a sauna or steam room).

No. steam room is steam (water vapour) and sauna is hot air.

I've never sampled either, although a friend of mine absolutely 'swore' by saunas, and repeatedly tried to persuade me to partake, although I never did. Perhaps I should have done.

Both have their good points. My choice would be hot tub, just to relax and soak in.
