What is something significant that has happened to you lately that was or is positive?

A significant thing would be something big, like: pay raise, promotion, moving, finding a lost loved one, going on a nice vacation, to a concert or a newly discovered fun place. By lately, I mean the last 6 months or so. Please tell us what happy things have happened in your life lately. smile

Even if you think it's too insignificant, if you thought of it, tell us anyway. It must be significant enough! grin

My husband got a promotion. That's about the only major thing I can think of

It doesn't really have to be all that major. I discovered the Louisiana Boardwalk. It had been open 2 years and I didn't even know it was so cool. My husband makes more money now because of the way they changed his "add ons". (It's complicated but if he makes more --yay.) grin

This past week I've met a whole bunch of great people. Each year I volunteer at the local Fringe Festival, and this time around I feel like I've gotten so much more out of it than in the past. Going fringing with friends is way more fun than seeing the shows alone. This might not be a big thing for others, but for me it was a huge change.

This week I met a guy who took my breath away. That may not seem like much, but I haven't felt that way about anyone in at least a year! I also got a raise and made a new best friend too. Lastly although bitter sweet, after a 3 month wait my Dad was buried with his father in Arlington where he wanted and deserved to be. Thanks for this survey! I was feeling a little down but this survey made me think I do have some things to be thankful for. grin

Free carpet cleaning, cool stuff in the mail, David quitting his crappy job, getting the house cleaned out, getting landscaping done, being in IM with someone I greatly admire (again)

I got caught up on my monthly bills. A friend, who I hadn't seen or talked to in over a year, wrote to me and we've been talking and writing daily since then. I hadn't realized how much I missed him until I heard from him. Now, I can't get him out of my mind. I'll be seeing him in August. Yay! I got my house totally clean and organized and it's stayed that way (so far). The weekend after the 4th, my oldest brother had a big party and I got to see a bunch of people I rarely see. It also have me a chance to realize some things about changes that made me understand going on with my life after my mom died is okay.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows (which I still haven't read, so don't talk to me about it).

My memory has been getting significantly better even though I recently have had a little backsliding.
I finished Diablo II Expansion, all the acts and everything.
Got the Harry Potter book, saw the Harry Potter movie at the theater.
The kittens are now living in the little area I arranged for them on the floor. They made their way to the floor on their own and mom didn't put them back. Now I get to start socializing them.

There has been a mother turkey walking around with a few young turklets near our home.
Amanda

Cool. We often have turkeys in our yard. We've also been seeing a lot of deer late at night. I've almost hit them in my driveway a couple of times. Caleb's wanting to go 'hunting' in the front yard. (I'm sure there's a redneck joke in there somewhere.)

Tomorrow I start a new job. It pays more. I get weekends off. Same employer.

A little over a month ago, I started dating the woman who used to be my boss, at my old job. We're going on a little vacation together, first week in August.

Not so much to me, but my son got a promotion & pay raise from his employer, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Now he assists groups (clubs, etc.) book their cruises & his pay went from $9.25 an hour to $10.97 an hour...all this with full medical, dental & vision coverage.

We see deer a lot too. Sometimes, if we drive back home at night, we see their glowing eyes in the field, then they run. Does Caleb have a relative who hunts? Maybe he's still too young, but it may be a good thing to get him into. I've heard that hunting is kind of dying off (around here, at least).

My brothers are big hunters. Also, most of my male friends. Caleb goes hunting a lot. He loves it. He's never killed anything but he enjoys being out there.

Teaching in Minnesota this past spring semester was very positive. It was a great experience. This conference I was just at was also really good; my paper went well and I met a bunch of people and hopefully made some useful contacts and connections. So all in all, a good 6 months.

I finished medical school smile

I (astonishingly) came top of my year in the practical exam (taking histories and examining patients) which meant I won a prize. It almost makes up for the fact that I came in the bottom quartile in the (unbelievably evil) written exam grin
