Sorry, real answer...

In ten years, I should be a qualified doctor doing my specialist medical training, probably in a hospital medicine speciality (like respiratory medicine or neurology, etc.). I'd quite like to be settled, with a partner and (at least) a couple of children - but no signs of that on the horizon, so who knows? My professional future is the only thing that is reasonably clear to me right now, but even that could dramatically change.

Still working in my field...maybe a position higher up (Department Manager/ Program Director), still living in the city....not crazy about the suburbs. Maybe married/partner (though I already feel that I've had my share)....no natural children (though I would not discount step-children). My life is good and I do not have any unrealistic dreams of winning the lottery or traveling around the world. I have done and been all that I have wanted, and the rest is just a bit of icing on the cake.

I would very much like to have a tenured position at a college or university somewhere on the west coast, preferably in the SF Bay area. Own a home, maybe have kid.

Ashes spread out over the desert in Tucson, Arizona. No male in my genetic line has lived to over 60-61 years. If that holds true I have 5 years left.

Hey, don't count on that! The males in my family (both sides) generally have pretty short life spans. My paternal grandfather died at 58, my own father died at 48. My mother's father died at 59. I was actually surprised I made it past 38. It seemed to be the trend with my father and his father. Strangely, with my history (smoker, not a disparager of alcohol and a longtime history of using illegal drugs such as pot and psychedelics) I am in amazingly good health. No blood pressure issues (95/80 last time I checked), low cholesterol and triglycerides, I seem to be bucking the family trends.

I'll be 33. Hopefully married, kids, with a meaningful career. Would like to live somewhere in Europe or maybe New Zealand.

I found out I had type II diabetes several years ago, my "good " cholesterol is always low, I smoke, and my triglycerides are 3 times normal.

Oh I am sorry to hear that. Is there nothing the docs can do for you?
Nursing home, never going to happen for me. I am just like my dad who said "shoot me first, never put me in a nursing home"
Well I have honored that request (no I didn't shoot him), but he has a small section of the house (a couple rooms) that are his, so I can keep an eye on him.
