Looking at the map below which direction would you say the train is traveling?

Here in Toronto some of our subway trains have a map with LED lights on them to indicate which direction the train is traveling.

Towards Downsview? I should know this, but I only use the TTC to go to work and I could do it with a blindfold on, so I never really pay attention to these things.

I'm guessing that red is where you've been and green is still to come. So the train is traveling next southeast (assuming the map is oriented north-up) and towards a destination that's in the top-center of the map, neither to the left nor the right. The picture isn't good enough for me to read the name of that destination.

Should I be able to read this? I ctrl-scrolled and still can't read the words.

Toward Finch? I would think the red lights are stations the train has already passed and the green lights are the ones ahead of it. But my logic doesn't usually conform to others' logic, so I've probably got it backward.

yes the line in question does run North south but in a u with the train reversing at Finch and Downsview the current end points on the map. I knew the names would be hard to read so I just used there location on the map. It was picture I took with my cell phone so it wasn't the best of quality.

The green lights on the map represent the direction the train has come from and the red are stops it has yet to come too. I mainly posted this question to see what others thought of it after a debate on a forum I was following.

Yup, those colors are exactly the opposite of what I'd guessed.

I would guess that the green stations are ones that have been visited and red is those yet to come, so towards Downsview.

No idea. It wouldn't be on purpose and don't know how to check.
