Do any girls let their butt cracks show on purpose?

It seems like I can't go a day without seeing some random girl's butt crack hanging out of her jeans. Do you think girls show it on purpose? If so, why? And if not, why are they so abundant.

You may include your personal thought about the attractiveness/unattractiveness of this look if you like.

I don't know if they show their butt crack on purpose or not. I know that a lot of teenage girls want the top of their thongs to hang out the top of their jeans. I was informed by my 13 year old niece that a lot of them think it's cool.

I have to admit, the "Halle Berry" look of wearing a thong, where it sits very high (like hanging on the pelvic bone) and a mini skirt, below ...(am I making sense?) so you are showing that you ARE wearing a thong, but not exposing butt crack etc

I don't know if they do it on purpose but, gross! Butt crack only looks good when you see the whole picture. I wear low waist jeans and my butt crack doesn’t show. That's as sickening as guys who wear their pants on their hips. I don't want to see their underwear! That and it looks like their carrying a load in their pants.

Personally, speaking from a woman's point of view, I think it's tacky attire. It is suggestive, cheap looking. It is very unattractive, but of course I'm a woman. I was told several years ago by a male photographer, that a man likes something to be left to the imagination...and I agree. I pick up my teenage granddaughter from high school sometimes, and am appalled at the girls clothing of today. On occasion I'll see a girl with a pretty skirt, and mention it to my granddaughter and her friends, and they said it's an experiment of sorts, I like to see girls look like girls, feminine, also boys with pants that fit their bodies and not hang down to the floor, their butts hanging out...appalling.

i was at a baseball game yesterday and there were three girls sitting in front of me. All three of them had some of their rear hanging out above the waistband of their jeans. as the game went on i realized that they were putting forth no effort to conceal them.

and as the game went on i began to think that it was kind of a cute look when it was just the top. (one of them was showing close to three inches, that is NOT an attractive look). however, i will concede that two of them had decent posteriors and it was just the very top and it was a cute look.

just some thoughts.

I think we're getting old! These are 7th and 8th grade girls I'm talking about. (12-14 years old) From what I hear, thongs are a must have. And, if you're "cool", you can only wear certain brands of clothing. It's a little wild to me. And, they all look way older than they are. For example, last fall my niece and I were at a gas station. I went in to buy cigarettes. I come out and there's 3 guys hanging out by the car, talking to her. One was asking for her number. I asked him how old he was and he said 19. Then, I asked him if he knew how old she was. His guess was 17 or 18. I'm like, no, she's flipping 12! Needless to say, my brother freaks out about it. His wife gives in to the way she wants to dress and act. It's madness!!!!

I love thongs myself and yes at my age I have to be very careful' nothing shows to much in the back of me like a teenage girl? I do see the younger girls with those very low-cut jeans down to the crotch almost and at my age of 50 it spells trouble for me if I were to do this and I would indeed be warned by my friends to watch myself?

Yes, for another reason. I don't believe that someone would go out and purchase clothing like that without having some idea what they are putting on public display. I suspect the reasoning behind it has more to do with them being slaves to fashion than anything else. What I find amusing is women walking around constantly grabbing at their pants and shirts and trying to yank their pants up and their shirts down in one gesture. I'm sure it's become a subconscious habit for them. It looks really silly. If you don't want to show it off, why are you dressing like that?

I don't find this to be a particularly attractive look.

see that is the problem right there, that is our society, those boys were doing nothing wrong, and
for what it is worth, those girls not your niece, but those 12 and 13 yr. old girls dont need to show themselves off sexually like that to where it gets guys attention, my question is when all this happens, where are the adults when this happens, I am glad you came to the rescue of your niece, but sometimes i think that these girls are purposely asking for trouble, and they dont care because they are not mature enough and smart enough to understand what they are doing. I wish parents would be a little more assertive with teenage girls, instead of letting them get away with this.

I know what you mean. I wouldn't make her dress like a nun, but I'd certainly draw the line at some point. A friend of mine has a 14 year old daughter. She wanted to start wearing thongs because she didn't want a panty line. My friend went and bought her new jeans, that were really loose. That would so be me!
Amanda
(reply to Tommyturtle40) posted 23-May-2006 12:41pm
In defense of my niece, she doesn't show herself off. Not really. She dresses nice, but not trashy. Her jeans are a little tighter than I'd go for, but she doesn't let her thongs or her butt crack show. She naturally looks a little older than she is, she developed early and all that. Plus, she wears make-up, which adds a little bit to how old she looks. Anyhow, I'm sure she likes the attention she gets from guys. When guys flock to you, it makes you feel pretty and good about yourself. At that age, you don't think about the bad things that could happen. I agree that parents should be more assertive when it comes to teenagers. I also think they should be more involved in their kids lives. So many parents have no idea where their kids are or what they are doing.

There are adult women and then there are teen-age girls. There is a difference. My girls would never consider it. I look at their jeans that they buy...if I don't approve, they or I will return them. They are too young or that. End of discussion.
Now, if adult women want to be tacky and look ridiculous...that is entirely up to them...but what must have they dressed as when they were a teen-ager. * rolls eyes *

From what I see and understand girls are maturing earlier now a days. They are developing breasts and hips younger and younger. They are getting their periods younger.

Being 14 and a bit tom-boyish, I've gotta say, I really get the vibe off my mum that she wishes I was more girly. Instead, I'm some crazy laddish intellect, and I know she doesn't like that. On occasion, when I think she's gone too far with it, I've said to her "So would you rather I wore low-cut tops and mini-skirts?"

A few years ago, when I really wasn't bothered too much what I wore, she said I should care more, and now I do care, she wants me to care differently!
RGirl
(reply to Liss) posted 25-May-2006 9:45pm
Oh boy, that bites! I dressed pretty crazy, black and stuff but it was always still girly. My mom let me do my hair and clothes however I wanted - except she wouldn't have gone for the slut clothes some girls wear now. Still, I had my hair different colors, mohawk and stuff. She was happy as long as I didn't end up pregnant and had good grades.

Be careful, don't try to change just to please your mother. Love yourself for yourself and don't judge yourself with other people's standards, even your Mum's.

Yes, it is the result of low waisted jeans that many girls show them on purpose as it is supposed to be an attractive look. Some girls are self-conscious about it but it doesn't stop them from wearing them.

I live two blocks from a high school and I have seen some girls wearing jeans that are so low waisted that I could see pubic hair poking out the front. I disagree with those that insist that the butt display is unintentional, especially when they wear a belly shirt with the word "porn star," "Porn Princess" or "Future MILF" across thier chest.
