Well when I used to watch any TV it would be some sci-fi thing.

Haven't had a TV in many years. Never liked it enough back then to keep it. Liked a few shows that today would be considered politically incorrect like Powers that Be and Filthy Rich. This was back in the '80s and early '90s. But hated the commercials that weren't relevant to me or my lifestyle and really disliked most of the shows. Cable cost too much and back then they didn't let me pick out my own "package" but had to take one of their choosing and that wasn't acceptable to me. Not enough educational stuff.

Fargo was great. Too bad it was a short run.

I guess there's going to be a season 2, but it will be mostly a different characters/setting. True Detective may be similar in that respect.
I kind of like that they are doing something different. Many shows decline over time since the stick with the same stuff and it gets kind of ridiculous. But, it sucks to lose the continuity of characters too.

I adored the 1981 television series of "Brideshead Revisited". Few movies or TV shows can be called life-changing; but that one was, for me; just as in terms of comedy, "Monty Python" was. I think my favourite TV show of recent years has been "Locked up Abroad"; they are so well made, few movies can measure up to the excitement they generate. I can watch it over and over again. I love the way they set the scene and build up the tension. And the acting is first-class.

> Have you
> seen Doc Martin?

My wife and I enjoy that show. Unfortunately, they haven't broadcast it in the proper chronology. I've missed a few crucial episodes. Just last night I finally got to see how Martin and Louiser got back together after his plan to return to London. I still haven't seen how the marriage got called off, although I can easily imagine...

I love the bit where he reads to his son from a medical journal and shows him the picture of the doctor that wrote the article.

I want my wife to see Martin Clunes in Men Behaving Badly. He plays such a completely different character, and it's really funny. Harry Enfield is really good too.

Thank you for the tip on Men Behaving Badly, I'll look it up. Evidently, Mr. Clunes wife produces the Doc Martin series.

I thought I saw the last episode of the Doc Martin show, evidently not. The last one I saw was when the lady was in the tower with the baby at which time the Doc professed his love to the baby's mother. Now that I think about it, that wasn't the ending. Now I must look again to check what the ending was.

You might want your wife to see this, if you haven't seen it before. I don't know if I sent it on SC. I giggle every time I see this. I know there is a series by Mark Gungor, which I think is beneficial to men and women.

(reply to LJD) posted 18-Aug-2014 9:20am
That was the end of the previous season, I think. There's a new one where the pharmacist goes away to the crazy house, a new one comes, there's a romance with another regular cast member, and then she returns. (I hope I'm not giving too much away).

TV series that I would happily sit and watch again:

Babylon 5 (maybe not the last season)
The West Wing
The Wire
Teen Wolf (a recent one, but have thoroughly enjoyed Seasons 1 and 2 in a guilty pleasure kind of way)
Supernatural (only seen the first five seasons, heard it may have jumped the shark after that, but we'll see)

I'm sure that there are others that will come to me too smile
