Other - I volunteered once to go into the Stanford University hospital for a trial of a new experimental trial of a mental health drug. Spent 3 days there. It was boring and I didn't notice any effect.

I was nearly admitted for anorexia in my 20s but managed to convince them I'd be a good girl and recover as an outpatient. I did it too.

Not by the clinic definition, no. Reality is intact, totally functional. I might do things that seem insane, but that's only because people don't know the reason behind it, which is a totally sane reason.

Depression and anxiety. Dad wanted me to get checked up at the ER after i overdosed on antihistamines. The psychologist on call evaluated me and saw that i cut and burn my arms. She sent me to a place called anchor hospital. While i was there i didnt sleep for four days

You dont have to be crazy to get committed. You just have to be going through some things, and be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I was committed because the psychologist in the ER thought i was trying to kill myself when i overdosed. i was not trying to kill myself, and I'm not crazy

I see what you mean. My post was supposed to be a joke, but I totally know what you are saying.
