"A lot?" I do not eat ANY junk food whatsoever and have not for years. Why buy stuff that isn't good for you when there are plenty of better things out there and more and more natural food stores. I think people get brainwashed by seeing junk food commercials on TV. I mean, when was the last time you saw a commercial for a healthy product on TV? I read labels carefully. I put back some things even in natural food stores because I do not like the ingredient list. Like chocolate bars for instance. Even some dark choc. bars have way too much sugar in them. It's up to the individual to have common sense and think for themselves as to what is better for them.

Explanation is repetitive. Must be Jessica.

My entire diet is essentially junk food. McDonald's 7 days a week for breakfast, couple times a week for dinner. Subway or pizza the other nights. I always get chips with my Subway sandwich. I like Fritos best. I love donuts, snack cakes, Pecan Sandies, candy (except dark chocolate), tapioca pudding and bubble gum.

Doesn't sound good for someone with diabetes. I love all the stuff mentioned above, but don't eat donuts, snacks or candy often. Doctor says my pancreas is wearing out and not producing enough insulin anymore. So... I'm adding a new 3rd diabetes prescription today. Blood sugar is rising without any change in my routine. Last stop before having to go with insulin.

Hah. It figures my comment would come after Galamorro. He is totally 180 degrees different in every aspect from me. We would not be candidates for friends whatsoever.

I try to avoid these items. I sometimes buy wheat thins, but rarely potato chips. I like wheat thins with strawberry cream cheese. I don't buy this but rarely. It's not that I don't like these items, but I know they aren't good for me all the time.

Recently, I had a birthday, and my husband bought me a cake, a delicious red velvet cake. The left over cake, I put in the freezer. It will last us for months. Then my brother and sister bought me a cake this last weekend...and lo and behold it was the same red velvet cake. Again, the remainder of the cake came home with me...and was put in the freezer. Very tempting, but won't touch it but maybe once a month. What a waste.

CK, I worry about you and your diet. I suspect you're a very stressed person. If you must go out, buy a salad, something on the healthier side.

CK try taking alpha lipoic acid for helping to bring down blood sugar. You can find it at Trader Joe's.

I am diabetic myself, and have learned that diabetics have a tendency towards dehydration. I know I have the problem. It is dangerous! Also, I read that the third stage of diabetes is dementia. This is what I fear. My mother died of dementia/altzheimers. She had a sugar problem. She loved coca cola..

I don't eat cake, nor candy; but I do eat potato chips quite often. As well as chocolate.

I used to, I am putting a stop to it though and getting healthier by eating healthier.

I try to eat very little of this stuff.
Unfortunately there are weak moments or particularly stressful times at work
and as they don't allow * beer * at work, well you get the picture.

I am a bit of a chocolate monster. I do limit my intake to, what I consider, to be reasonable. One small choc bar a night.

I don't know I eat food but some of it might be junk or it might be good it depends on the food and whether or not it is junk or if I am eating it or not.

Sometimes. I go on cake binges, but shop for groceries so seldomly that I'm still limited to one cake every few weeks.

I'll say no. Most of my food intake is home-cooked meals.

If you were to count coffee though, it would surely be a yes.

I'm really not sure how to vote on this. I do eat sweets pretty frequently, though many of them are homemade and/or not processed packaged foods, so I think of them as less junky. But they're certainly not nutritious. I also snack a fair bit, but I try to go for moderately healthy stuff (like nuts and fresh or dried fruit), at worst cheese and crackers. Though I have recently formed an addiction to wasabi peas, which are definitely junk. But I eat three non-junk meals a day, so I think on the whole I don't really eat all that much junk food.

I hardly ever eat cake apart from birthday parties and such. I've never been a big fan of potato chips, but I'll eat them to be polite if offered by my host. I go through phases where I'll eat a lot of candy (like every day) and then not eat any for months. Lately, I'm eating it most days.

I don't think of myself as someone who eats a lot of junk food. Generally, I have a very healthy diet; lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, very little processed foods, I drink quite a bit of water, try to eat a balanced diet with lots of variety...

I've gone through phases when I eat way too much junk food, but for the past couple months I've been avoiding it and I'm hoping it's lost its appeal permanently.
