Currently yes; I get a very good rate for the Essential plan on the New York State exchange. After Deplorable Donald takes over, however, I'm not sure.

I have good health insurance and it pays 4 most of my medical bills.

I can't tell if I can't afford it, or if I'm just not managing it well enough. Either way, I usually don't get to paying off medical bills until they have already landed in collections. On any given month, I'd say we pay on average, about $500-600 per month in medical/dental/vision expenses. If you add in three cats, it's another $100 per month.

Cats are preventative. They should be covered.

Very close to no right now. The last 3 years has seen it skyrocket (almost 100%) that is is now taking 39% of my weekly takehome pay. Thank God I do not have a mortgage or any loans out right now.

Over here in the UK, we are fortunate enough to have the NHS (National Health Service), so health insurance is not a necessity.

We have insurance through my husband's work, and Medicare.

The medical community has made it difficult. I say stay away from big Pharma, and the AMA except in emergencies.

I'd say no if I had to pay for it. I don't have $950 a month for me alone. But, my company pays 100% of the premiums so I don't pay for medical insurance for myself. My wife has Medicare and I pay for the part B cost on that.

Don't know as there is no requirement to have it in the UK. I do have some private healthcare coverage as a benefit from work, but that does not cover management of any chronic conditions like my type 1 diabetes, so realistically, I'll probably never use it. If I did have to buy health insurance, I would assume that due to the fact that I have a chronic illness, it would be more expensive. So, I don't know whether I'd be able to afford it or not. One of the many reasons why I'm lucky to come from the UK and am extremely grateful for the existence of the NHS.

It is part of my benefits package at work.
