Yes; I tend to speak or write apologetically in defence of the things I believe in. But I'm not a polemicist.

I don't think so.

"Apologist" has such a negative connotation. Yet from this definition it sounds like anyone who holds and defends a political position is an apologist.

Good thing I read the definition because I was going to mention apologizing to people often.

I try not to argue. I speak my truth and listen. I learn and sometimes must agree to disagree. I speak my beliefs but never push them on others or persuade them to change their POV. I speak sweetly and plant seeds and hope others awaken from unkind to kind. Many things I believe might seem controversial so I am careful to present them lovingly.

Sure, although I can't say that I like the sounds of it.

However, to that extent possible, It's important to be diplomatic when expressing your views.

On the internet, I often feel like I need to be an apologist for evidence based medicine. In real life, it doesn't come up that much.

I'm an apologist for turning a blind eye to (not getting suspicious or reporting) things that only seem sort of suspicious. If you can imagine an innocent possibility and the chance that all of those involved might want to be left alone - you should ignore it. Observe for a while longer if you need to.

Today I saw what appeared to be people casting fishing lines over a property line fence, into their neighbor's yard. I imagine some overly hyper vigilant worrywart sorts might have been bothered by something like that, but I hope not.
