Would you accept this offer?

You've been offered a free 2-week trip for 2, to be taken any time within the next year. You and your guest will fly first class and stay in a 5-star hotel. You'll also be given $2000 spending money.

The catch is that you won't be told the destination. Would you go on the trip?

Yes, though it would be difficult to take two straight weeks off work. I'm required to spread my annual leave out through the year. I'd want to have some confidence on whoever was offering this free trip and would read the small-print. $2000 would cover a flight back from most places if we wound up somewhere we really didn't want to be. I never go away on holiday (one trip abroad and one long weekend in Scotland in the last twelve years) so it would be nice to get away somewhere.

No. No telling if the trip is to a civilized country, or an uncivilized third world country.

Nope, it involves flying, I don't do that.

I wouldn't want it either. The chances of it being someplace full of diseases or bombs going off makes me want to sit this one out. No thanks.

Sure. If it's somewhere with a 5-star hotel, it can't be that bad.

That's what I was thinking. I'd go and if it wasn't all that great of a place, I'd chill in the 5 star hotel.

Exactly! They've got to at least have a good restaurant and a swimming pool, right? Maybe even a spa. It couldn't possibly be all bad!

Sure why not...as long as I do not have to pay for anything..

Well duh, that's like being paid a thousand a week just to stay in a fancy hotel somewhere. Count me in :)

Yes. Unless there are vaccination requirements that I do not want to submit to.

I'm not sure I could square away things to allow myself a two week vacation to a random destination. And I'm rather comfortable relaxing at home. Plus I'd worry that I'd greatly dislike the destination. Some places I'd be fine not seeing.

Sure. I will need to find a very versatile and kick ass partner to go with me.
