I have never taken one (knowingly!) but I wouldn't really have a problem with doing one - I don't have anything to hide. I would have a problem if someone tried to illegally force me to (ie they didn't have any grounds). |

I've never taken one but would have no problem in doing so. |
| juliw | | posted 29-Nov-2001 9:20am |
Yes, and I passed the test. |
dab | | posted 29-Nov-2001 9:27am |
While I do have a problem with drug testing, I am considering a couple different jobs that would require them.
As a related comment following up a comment on a previous survey, I passed my commercial pilot checkride yesterday. |

Woohoo! So when are you going to Alaska? |
| Oscar | | posted 29-Nov-2001 10:02am |
No, I haven't, but I'd be angry if anyone asked me to unless they had a really good reason and I had time to prepare. |
dab | | (reply to daver) posted 29-Nov-2001 10:06am |
Unfortunately, only single-engine land so far. If I can get the single-engine sea checkride in before ice-up, then I'll think about applying for jobs next spring. Who am I kidding, either way I'll think all winter long about applying for jobs. |

Hey Congrads! So which plane are you going to buy next with that license? |
| jkiehart | | posted 29-Nov-2001 10:44am |
Yes, and I cheated, and I passed, and it was against my personal beliefs. What's that going down the drain? Oh, right, my civil liberties. |
| jkiehart | | (reply to dab) posted 29-Nov-2001 10:45am |
EXCELLENT! Where are you considering applying to? |
| autumnlight | | posted 29-Nov-2001 10:47am |
I have never been asked to take a test. |
dab | | (reply to lion) posted 29-Nov-2001 11:11am |
Ha! The new license doesn't let me fly any plane I couldn't fly before. It just lets me get paid for it. |
dab | | (reply to jkiehart) posted 29-Nov-2001 11:15am |
Don't know. I'll read the classified ads and ask advice from a former flight instructor who worked up there for a while. |

You might be coming HERE? Cool. |
| Oscar | | (reply to dab) posted 29-Nov-2001 12:59pm |
are you dabprovin? |
dab | | (reply to Oscar) posted 29-Nov-2001 1:00pm |
Nope, I'm dab. |
| roozle | | posted 29-Nov-2001 1:28pm |
I have not applied for certain jobs because a drug test was required. Not sure that I would always make that choice, but that is how I feel to date.
|
| Oscar | | (reply to dab) posted 29-Nov-2001 2:26pm |
ok, sorry |
| anoddoblivion | | posted 29-Nov-2001 2:30pm |
Yes, for physicals for scouts and sports. And I passed, of course. |
| Jemmy | | posted 29-Nov-2001 3:35pm |
Never had one, and I wouldn't have a problem with it. I don't use drugs or alcohol anymore. |
| birdiepie | | posted 29-Nov-2001 4:33pm |
No, I've never done it. |
| jkiehart | | (reply to birdiepie) posted 29-Nov-2001 10:05pm |
Go. Away. Do have any understanding of anything? Do you not realize that your cousin fudgeed up a perfectly good Survey Central experience for you?
In the grand scheme of things, Survey Central is not important, at least to a lot of people (it really is to me), so, you should just cut your losses and go away. The whole situation surrounding you is so bad, and, I know that you're young, but, the rest of us aren't, and, well, it's just a bad thing. Please, just... find another place to go..
And I would really give your cousin- the one who preyed on our emotions, and really left a lot of feeling betrayed, used, and generally taken advantage of- another look.
"Aaron" is not a good person. Please go away. You are nothing more than a stinging reminder that we are nice people who can be taken in by young people with problems. |
Zang | | posted 29-Nov-2001 11:03pm |
They don't really do that in Canada as far as I know. The only drug testing that I'm aware of is for people on probation in the Criminal Justice System and in sports. I've never heard of it being used in the workplace and such, although I understand that this practice is quite common in some of the less "enlightened" nations. |

No drug tests here. |
jettles | | posted 30-Nov-2001 12:18pm |
i was drug tested prior to starting my last two jobs, it is part of the hire physical. i imagine i passed since i am still working. |
| Avocado | | posted 2-Dec-2001 11:56pm |
I've never been asked to take a drug test for work.
I don't think it's right that drug tests are given, but I wouldn't quit my job over being asked to take one.
I wouldn't be worried about the outcome so long as I hadn't eaten any poppy seed bagels that day... |
SueBee |
I've never had to take one, but I wouldn't have a problem with it. It's been at least 20 years since I smoked pot. |
SueBee | | (reply to Oscar) posted 3-Dec-2001 1:44am |
How would you prepare for a drug test -- study up so you get all the answers right? |
| Oscar | | (reply to SueBee) posted 3-Dec-2001 9:24am |
lol |
dab | | (reply to Avocado) posted 6-Dec-2001 12:29pm |
I think you actually have to worry about poppy seed bagels for the past month. |
| jkiehart | | (reply to dab) posted 8-Dec-2001 5:11am |
You have to eat pounds of poppy seeds (not the bagels, just the seeds) for any discernable effect. I've been doing my research! ...'cause I have to take a drug test... |
| skylark | | posted 14-Dec-2001 5:23am |
No, fortunately not. And I wouldn't have any problems with that now. It's been over one year since I last, ahmm, enjoyed any illegal substances. Sigh. |
dab | | (reply to jkiehart) posted 14-Dec-2001 3:27pm |
That's good to know. What about cough syrup with codeine? |
| jkiehart | | (reply to dab) posted 14-Dec-2001 11:39pm |
Are you taking a test? I will help you then. Otherwise, I will not give work. |
dab | | (reply to jkiehart) posted 15-Dec-2001 9:48am |
I've applied for a job that'll require a test and may well apply for others in the spring. I haven't heard anything back yet on the job application and it's been over a month since the cough syrup so I'm not really worried about it. I was just curious in case you happened to know from your research. |
| Wookiewoman | | posted 18-Dec-2001 1:47pm |
I had to take one at my previous job. They were doing random testing and I passed with flying colors!! (Although, I was a little perturbed that they had chosen me because I knew I would pass when they could have chosen some other scumbag to take it and fail and then maybe the work place would have been a little better to work in.) |
| yorricks | | posted 18-Dec-2001 6:27pm |
Twice in the past year. They recently implemented a new policy for drug testing at work which states that if you are injured (an injury requiring medical attention) then you have to take a drug test. I'm accident prone but drug free. I was a little irritated by the process though. The drug test was a first priority at the hospital. "Come in...have a seat....bleed here...fill out these papers...pee in a cup..." |

Where have you been, toots? I finally find some time to visit SC again and you're nowhere to be found. That's a fine how-do-you-do! |
| ASexyBabe | | posted 17-Jan-2002 1:54pm |
Yes and I failed. Yes and I passed using someone elses urine |
| jkiehart | | (reply to SueBee) posted 18-Jan-2002 7:06pm |
I'm a busy little beaver what with my NEW JOB! Between that and the drinking, there's hardly ANY computer time. *extremely flattered you noticed* |
SueBee | | (reply to jkiehart) posted 19-Jan-2002 1:34pm |
LOL Why would drinking keep you away from SC? I always thought the two went together well. It's so sad that many of us are getting so busy that we don't find as much time to spend here anymore. *sob* |
