| babeeco | posted 16-Dec-1997 1:37pm Heck no! I am old. But I am planning on fifty more years of good life. I always have lots of things I want to do. |
| Timmi | posted 16-Dec-1997 3:55pm In general I'd have to say no. |
| steve | posted 16-Dec-1997 5:38pm Yup. If I feel this run down and awful at 28, I dread the possibility that I might some day be 70. |
| hunter | posted 16-Dec-1997 6:04pm Not at all. I look forward to it. |
| bill | posted 17-Dec-1997 6:49am No, as I get older I get a stronger and stronger feeling of understanding and peace. It feels good to get old. |
| fiore | posted 17-Dec-1997 1:59pm Yes. Youth is a beautiful thing. People can be young at heart though... |
| Twanger | posted 17-Dec-1997 4:55pm Not really, but there's no point in thinking about it anyways, so I choose not to. |
| gilly | posted 17-Dec-1997 11:05pm I'm afraid of some aspects of growing old, like my body failing me, but I'm kind of looking forward to some of the perspective changes I expect, and to seeing how people relate to me differently. |
| Dahlia | posted 18-Dec-1997 2:02am I am not really afraid of growing old. It's more a case that I am afraid of what it means. I am terrified of death. I try not to think of dying because when I do, I get very depressed. Although it also has the weird opposite effect of inspiring me to do things. I figure if we only live once, and age is inevitable, then I better enjoy each day as much as I can. I take small chances so that I won't have to live thinking "what if...?" The only thing I can say though, is that I look forward to being 40. Seems like a good age, and maybe then I'll finally feel that my body has caught up to my mind. |
| Jaime | posted 18-Dec-1997 4:58am Hmmm... If you ask in this way, the answer is NO. But I'm afraid about how days and weeks pass more quickly each year.... :( |
| Atzilut | posted 18-Dec-1997 12:12pm it's going to happen anyway. I'm resigned to it. it couldn't be any other way, so it makes little sense to 'be afraid of it' I'm sure when bits of me start failing I'll be uncomfortable and that kind of scares me. ok, yes I'm terrified. |
| doom | posted 19-Dec-1997 1:18pm mentally maybe but not physically. |
| elijahblue | posted 21-Dec-1997 12:22am Some things are gonna be good (more money) and some things will suck (closer to the grim reaper). Don't usually think about it. |
| jefff | posted 21-Dec-1997 5:57am Physical decline is worrisome, but having a long life of experiences is something I look forward to with anticipation. And if I have my way, I'll grow older for a long, looong, time. |
| Jimmy | posted 22-Dec-1997 1:40am How about a yes or no? That would be a big fill-in-the-bubble next to a NO. Why fear the inevitable? I spent the first 17 years of my life worrying. I worried about my grades and my social life and my looks etc, etc. One day in college, I realized that it was all for nothing. Had I never worried, everything would have turned out the same. If there's something to be done to improve a possible outcome, then do it! If there is nothing one can do to avoid it, then why worry about an outcome that cannot be altered? Bottom line: I do not worry, and am rarely afraid. I act, I wait, or I go on with my life. That's all one can do. |
