Have you ever sent a "secret admirer" note?

i used to send a lot of anonymous postcards, but i never thought of them as "secret admirer notes".

Why would you do this?

Groups I've been in have participated in a 'secret pal' program. It's kind of like drawing names in the office Christmas present pool. You sign up to participate and then all those who signed up choose each other's names. You send cards, small gifts, etc. on holidays and the person's birthday. At the end of the time period (for our Christmas one, it's 10 days, for others, a whole year) you meet and try to guess who your secret pal was.

Kind of. I've had someone strategically place a secret admirer note...I wasn't terribly secret in the first place...

I did it to someone I had a crush on in high school. I was too shy to do it under my own name, and thought it was kind of romantic. I could see doing it just to make someone feel good - there's something nice about knowing you're admired without the pressure of having to do anything about it.

Not my type of thing to do. I'm more likely to send mail that tells on someone...never have though, but I've thought about it a lot lately.

Anonymous stuff, like carnations on Valentine's Day in high school, sure. Not really 'secret admirer notes' though.
