Yer jokin', right?

If true, I plan to celebrate by squashing two rather large ballons between pieces of icy cold metal, while telling myself to hold perfectly still.

I am a Canadian male who doesn't pay much attention to National Cheese Spotting Day and such things here. I'm not likely to begin keeping track of such things in foreign nations.

Why don't you ask Tom Green.

Tom Green who televised his operation for it?

I only know about that because it was featured on a tv clips from other countries show. It's kind of a laugh at all the silly foreigners show (like the clips from Japanese tv where they lift weights using their.....*ahem*) but with odd serious things thrown in (like hard-hitting drink-driving adverts, etc.)

Only having terrestrial tv (4 channels) I only get to see certain foreign shows (is he Canadian?) and if you start getting into them they get pulled and no-one lse picks them up * frown * Homicide: Life on the Street was in an early morning (2PM) slot but that was okay, then they pulled it with one season left to go before it was finished * frown * They pulled Chicago Hope too. If you like any shows that are imports you have to wait and see if they get shown. It's bad for me because all the decent sci-fi at the moment seems to come from the US or Australia - we aren't making any - so that could all go in one fell swoop * frown *

Yep, He's Canadian & he's the one who televised his operation for the removal of one of his testicles. Homicide Life on the Streets & Chicago Hope were cancelled in the US-maybe that's why they were pulled in the UK.

I know they were cancelled there too, but UK terrestrial channels are refusing to show the last series of both! The last episode of Homicide was a cliffhanger - no way of knowing who lived/died stayed/retired. Besides, it was brilliant!

I think we should spread the news about this day, and the importance of it. One of my best friends had a mammogram just two days ago, and is being sent for a biopsy in the next couple of days. It is important that cancer is caught early.

Thank you for your concern. She found out today that she will either need a lumpectomy or mastectomy. The biopsy will be performed Friday, and she will know next week which. She is only 29 years old. She would surely value your prayers.

No and I don't care... My Mom just had a tumor removed from her breast last October; she is OK now. I have not had a mammography in 10 years - I KNOW I SHOULD GO!!! I ALSO KNOW THAT I SHOULD STOP DRINKING AND SMOKING AND EATING FATTY FOODS AND I SHOULD EXERCISE AND I SHOULD SEE A DOCTOR ABOUT MY HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE (hereditary too)! I have to stop smoking, drinking, salt, grease, and my sedentary life before I go there... I just know the doc will tell me all of that! So when I get it all under control (ugh!), I promise I'll see him!

By the way- I'm not so stressed out anymore... I have quit smoking and drinking since I wrote that. I have seen my doctor, I'm taking high blood pressure pills and I'm a seeing a nutritionist. It's working- I feel great! I have an appointment with him in about a month, I won't wait 'till October for a mammography and things seem to be in control.

I was yelling because I was out of control and I knew I had to do something - I prefer to be in control; it's less freaky!
