| Brian | posted 8-Oct-2001 10:55am Yer jokin', right? If true, I plan to celebrate by squashing two rather large ballons between pieces of icy cold metal, while telling myself to hold perfectly still. |
| juliw | posted 8-Oct-2001 11:33am Nope, I didn't know that. Thanks for letting us know. |
| autumnlight | posted 8-Oct-2001 11:38am Nope |
| Biggles | posted 8-Oct-2001 12:54pm I wasn't. Do they have a screening for testicular cancer day? |
| Zang | posted 8-Oct-2001 1:02pm I am a Canadian male who doesn't pay much attention to National Cheese Spotting Day and such things here. I'm not likely to begin keeping track of such things in foreign nations. |
| Frostbrand | posted 8-Oct-2001 1:51pm But having lost a Great Aunt to it, I think this was a good idea. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Biggles) posted 8-Oct-2001 3:30pm Why don't you ask Tom Green. |
| Biggles | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 8-Oct-2001 3:57pm Tom Green who televised his operation for it? I only know about that because it was featured on a tv clips from other countries show. It's kind of a laugh at all the silly foreigners show (like the clips from Japanese tv where they lift weights using their.....*ahem*) but with odd serious things thrown in (like hard-hitting drink-driving adverts, etc.) Only having terrestrial tv (4 channels) I only get to see certain foreign shows (is he Canadian?) and if you start getting into them they get pulled and no-one lse picks them up |
| Enheduanna | posted 8-Oct-2001 4:46pm Damn, and me with nothing to wear! |
| confetti | posted 8-Oct-2001 5:13pm No. So that's why we're wearing pink ribbons on our cheerleading outfits! I just thought the assistant coach was getting a cheap thrill pinning them on. |
| nasale | posted 8-Oct-2001 5:30pm No, actually I haven't done one yet. Thanks for reminding me. |
| jettles | posted 8-Oct-2001 8:17pm no, i was not but i do go and get my mammogram every year! |
| mandy | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 9-Oct-2001 12:46am *Throws you a set of pasties* |
| Enheduanna | (reply to mandy) posted 9-Oct-2001 10:42am Hey, those are bill's! |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Biggles) posted 9-Oct-2001 3:14pm Yep, He's Canadian & he's the one who televised his operation for the removal of one of his testicles. Homicide Life on the Streets & Chicago Hope were cancelled in the US-maybe that's why they were pulled in the UK. |
| Biggles | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 9-Oct-2001 5:06pm I know they were cancelled there too, but UK terrestrial channels are refusing to show the last series of both! The last episode of Homicide was a cliffhanger - no way of knowing who lived/died stayed/retired. Besides, it was brilliant! |
| Biggles | posted 9-Oct-2001 5:09pm This is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the UK. Hey you have a day, we go one better! |
| anoddoblivion | posted 9-Oct-2001 9:41pm Everyday of the year is national somtehing-or-the-other for two or three things at once here in the USA. What's Mammography? |
| Cleo | posted 9-Oct-2001 9:49pm Nooooooooooooooo.Your kidding right???? Geeze,I must have been getting way too much sleep when he was in office. |
| Cleo | (reply to anoddoblivion) posted 9-Oct-2001 9:53pm ESP alert! You took the words right out of my mouth. |

| mandy | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 9-Oct-2001 11:27pm *Pretends I didn't know that* They are? Now, how in the world did I end up with those? *innocent look* |
| Enheduanna | (reply to mandy) posted 9-Oct-2001 11:44pm You sneaked them out of his luggage in Vancouver, didn't you? The real question is, what was he doing taking his pasties to Whistler with him? |
| lobster | posted 10-Oct-2001 1:13am I think we should spread the news about this day, and the importance of it. One of my best friends had a mammogram just two days ago, and is being sent for a biopsy in the next couple of days. It is important that cancer is caught early. |
| Biggles | (reply to lobster) posted 10-Oct-2001 12:04pm I hope your friend is okay. |
| kaleb777 | posted 10-Oct-2001 1:56pm It isn't everywhere. |
| Oscar | posted 10-Oct-2001 2:26pm Nope, and I don't intend to do anything about it now that I know either. |
| lobster | (reply to Biggles) posted 10-Oct-2001 11:29pm Thank you for your concern. She found out today that she will either need a lumpectomy or mastectomy. The biopsy will be performed Friday, and she will know next week which. She is only 29 years old. She would surely value your prayers. F |
| Biggles | (reply to lobster) posted 11-Oct-2001 1:06pm That's very young |
| mandy | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 11-Oct-2001 1:31pm *waves* Hi...I'm at romkey's and lara and I were just chased by a wet dog! *smiling* See you soon... |
| Irene007 | posted 12-Oct-2001 12:00am No and I don't care... My Mom just had a tumor removed from her breast last October; she is OK now. I have not had a mammography in 10 years - I KNOW I SHOULD GO!!! I ALSO KNOW THAT I SHOULD STOP DRINKING AND SMOKING AND EATING FATTY FOODS AND I SHOULD EXERCISE AND I SHOULD SEE A DOCTOR ABOUT MY HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE (hereditary too)! I have to stop smoking, drinking, salt, grease, and my sedentary life before I go there... I just know the doc will tell me all of that! So when I get it all under control (ugh!), I promise I'll see him! |
| natsim | posted 23-Oct-2001 1:58am No, but why would I, since I don't live in the US? |
| Wookiewoman | posted 24-Oct-2001 5:54pm That's good to know for in the furture. |
| they | posted 16-Nov-2001 2:24am I guess I should, considering where I work.. but I don't. www.avoncrusade.com |
| Dino | (reply to Irene007) posted 29-Nov-2001 12:39pm you should stop shouting too! |
| Irene007 | (reply to Dino) posted 1-Dec-2001 11:12am By the way- I'm not so stressed out anymore... I have quit smoking and drinking since I wrote that. I have seen my doctor, I'm taking high blood pressure pills and I'm a seeing a nutritionist. It's working- I feel great! I have an appointment with him in about a month, I won't wait 'till October for a mammography and things seem to be in control. I was yelling because I was out of control and I knew I had to do something - I prefer to be in control; it's less freaky! |
| Dino | (reply to Irene007) posted 3-Dec-2001 7:55am way to go! |
