| Lucy | posted 26-Aug-1998 10:44pm My dreams can be vary wacky, but many times they are prophetic. it all depends on whats going on in my life. If I'm having a stressfull problem, my dreams will usually involve that. |
| daver | posted 27-Aug-1998 4:53am My dreams tend to be convoluted. Other than that, there's no real common theme to my dreams. |
| emily | posted 27-Aug-1998 5:07am I haven't had a memorable dream in a while. I used to be able to set up my dreams....I'd lie there thinking up a situation and my dreams would be a continuation. Lately I try not to think. |
| Mimi | posted 27-Aug-1998 7:25am The only dreams I remember seem to be related to work, but they are so strange & funny. Even with a wacko boss, they are never frightening. |
| reality | posted 27-Aug-1998 9:31am my dreams vary way too much. the point of view varies, first person or omniscient observer. who I am varies, me, super-me, female me, random guy identified as me, random girl identified as me, other (I have been a small fluffy white cat before). I used to fly a lot, but that has changed, I hardly ever do that anymore. currently it is usually telekinetic. the theme may occasionally reflect something I have read, but generally not, it is only if I was REALLY into the book. most often the dreams are random (as for content). sometimes they are continuations of previous dreams. it is interesting to remember the contents of a previous dream while in a dream. sometimes they are really vivid and make great stories. I think in the previous survey I mentioned that I have full sensory dreams, or at least I think they are full, I have sound, sight (color), touch (pleasure and pain).. not sure about smell and no recollection of taste. if it matters, I almost never dream about sex (maybe a half dozen or less times). |
| gilly | posted 27-Aug-1998 10:41am While I do have some nightmares and some fun sexy dreams, mostly the ones I remember are just weird bits of normal life, like a very vivid one about buying a pipe and tobacco. |
| jcdino | posted 27-Aug-1998 11:04am My dreams are generally bizarre, and usually have at least one person I know in them somewhere. |
| milktree | posted 27-Aug-1998 11:06am I just have weird dreams. I had a Rosencrantz and Glidenstern are Dead dream the other night, sort of. I'm sure it's about something else, but I've not figured out what it was about yet. I had a dream I could take my skull out. That was cool, 'cuz it made it easy to brush my teeth. |
| lisashea | posted 27-Aug-1998 11:22am How about sexually stimulating by a current friend! I do a lot of "dream remembering" - if you practice by writing down your dreams every morning when you wake, you get better and better at remembering them. My sister and I get a "dream newsletter" that talks about these kinds of things. I used to have scary dreams about my parents, but those all have faded. Now I mostly have dreams about "normal life" kinds of things, talking to people, doing things similar to what I do while awake. When the alarm clock plays a CD in the morning the music gets integrated into my dream - until recently we had the "Zoot Suit Riot" CD in and I had jazz-club kinds of dreams. I just switched to a Traditional Irish CD and, predictably, my last dream this morning was set in Ireland ;) |
| hunter | posted 27-Aug-1998 11:58am None of the above. I would say that I *most* frequently dream about my everyday life, just going about it, in black & white. I think that's the standard garbage-collect brain feature. When I have more vivid dreams, they tend to be extremely varied in subject matter. |
| steve | posted 27-Aug-1998 3:31pm Most of my dreams that I remember are just odd. Many of them are really quite boring, and it seems odd that I even remember them. But there are no real repeating themes that I'm aware of these days. (I usually don't remember my dreams.) |
| dab | posted 27-Aug-1998 4:06pm It's not a car wreck but an airplane wreck. Powerlines are just terrifying. |
| elijahblue | posted 27-Aug-1998 6:04pm people from long ago much more frequently than current people in my life; virtually never fictional characters; lots of trains, caves, and bodies of water (especially the ocean); complex buildings, often made up of parts of real buildings... usually my dreams are not overtly frightening but there is a definite dark or sinister element to them |
| pookster | posted 27-Aug-1998 6:54pm I've had the same dream since I was young.....I am a protector, but who I'm protecting or what from depends upon who's in my life and what they fear. Like the last time it was my friend Beverly and her mom was trying to kill her and her dog. But it's the same....a field, a fire, and we're actually racing towards the enemy (her mom) and away from something that is drastically evil (though I never see what it is). If any of you do dream analysis professionally or something like that....I can't figure it out, maybe you can!! |
| BadtzMaru | posted 28-Aug-1998 12:36am I'm sure you can tell that I have a lot of nightmares and sexual dreams (but not at the same time! and not all of the choices).....Oh damn, I forgot to put "my pets" and of course "family members". Within the past few months, I've had at least one dream from all of the choices except the Flying. I'm sure that I need counseling because of the constant Nightmares (they're always re: 1 particular butt-hole from my past). I dream very often and vividly. The general theme is exactly what elijahblue described. And for the past few years (besides the nightmares), the main characters have been people I went to high school with (& haven't seen since) -- I don't know why, this seems really weird & has gotten annoying. |
| lizzie | posted 28-Aug-1998 10:02am I tend to free associate things in my dreams. It's perfectly reasonable to be correcting chemistry tests in a bowling alley, for example, in my dreams. Or to be standing at a car, hearing the radio, and saying to the people in the car, "Hey, that's the radio station that my alarm clock is set to!" |
| Resy | posted 29-Aug-1998 12:47pm I work out many of my problems in dreams. On occasion, the exact scenario is played out the next day. I also consistently have dream where a loved one who has died visits me in my dreams (only for the first month or so after their deaths). |
| eris | posted 2-Sep-1998 8:20pm I wish I remembered more of my dreams - the few I manage to are usually interesting, especially the sex ones. |
| LindaH | posted 28-Jul-2008 9:26pm Walking around cities and buildings, sometimes meeting famous people. |
