| kaleb777 | posted 18-Sep-2001 4:36pm Snap? |
| Enheduanna | posted 18-Sep-2001 4:47pm Spades, Hearts, Rummy and Gin Rummy I've played but I always forget how to play them until reminded. I know Go Fish, War, B.S., Solitaire, and lots of kinds of Poker. |
| anoddoblivion | posted 18-Sep-2001 5:01pm No one told me I had bridge twice! No wonder my rating is so crappy! Wait, if you are supposed to let me know, then it's YOUR FAULT! Anyway, I know most of the above plus a lots more. And about ten ways or more to play solitaire. |
| jkiehart | posted 18-Sep-2001 5:08pm I checked 7 of them, but aside from types of Solitaire, I would have to have my memory refreshed. I haven't played cards with anyone for a long time, I guess. I used to play Euchre ALL the time in college, would skip classes for tournaments. And I think spades and hearts are pretty much the same. |
| confetti | posted 18-Sep-2001 5:22pm All of these. You forgot 'Memory' and some others, too. |
| cpierson | posted 18-Sep-2001 5:40pm Blackjack. And what about bridge? ;) |
| Jemmy | posted 18-Sep-2001 5:41pm Rummy, Gin, Go Fish, Cheat, solataire, poker and many many many others not listed. |
| juliw | posted 18-Sep-2001 6:55pm Hearts, Euchre, soltaire, war, go fish, crazy eights, and spit in the ocean, I love to play Uno. |
| Iseult | posted 18-Sep-2001 7:18pm You mentioned Bridge two times. And by the way, Bridge and Rummy are the same thing. |
| Iseult | (reply to anoddoblivion) posted 18-Sep-2001 7:19pm Oh, sorry about the bridge thingy. I'll rate your survey good. |
| HareKrishna | (reply to anoddoblivion) posted 18-Sep-2001 11:45pm Right now this survey is rated 57.9%! Hare Krishna! |
| Zang | posted 18-Sep-2001 11:58pm I only picked the ones I feel confident about knowing the rules of. There were a couple (Bridge, Euchre) that I played years ago, and only vaguely remember how to play. |
| natsim | posted 19-Sep-2001 12:10am All of the above and more. I like card games. We are working our way through Hoyles book at the moment. |
| ASexyBabe | posted 19-Sep-2001 9:06am Bridge is listed twice. |
| Maarten | posted 19-Sep-2001 9:25am Bridge is listed twice. Bridge is listed twice. |
| ASexyBabe | (reply to Maarten) posted 19-Sep-2001 9:57am **giggle** |
| ASexyBabe | (reply to Maarten) posted 19-Sep-2001 9:57am **giggle** . |
| Biggles | posted 19-Sep-2001 12:49pm I can play (names are different in US/UK to the extent that the blackjack we play is no relation to the US blackjack, etc): Blackjack, Pontoon, Trumps (Whist), Chinese patience (more than one person), Rummy, Beggar Me Neighbour (probably actually "my"!), various versions of solitaire.......others that I have no name for. |
| Biggles | posted 19-Sep-2001 12:51pm I was also taught how to play Crap-Head but I don't think I remember the rules. |
| phi | posted 19-Sep-2001 1:53pm Many types of solitaire, many types of poker. German Whist. Mao -- though knowing how to play Mao is different from knowing the rules. I've played Bridge, and while I can handle the card play, I don't really understand the bidding conventions used. I've also played Spades and Knockout Whist and some other card games, but don't really remember the rules. Should I have marked one of the "Bridge" options and not the other, since I half way know how to play? |
| romkey | (reply to phi) posted 19-Sep-2001 4:15pm is it Mao or Mau? I always thought it was Mau... |
| callen610 | posted 19-Sep-2001 9:50pm Rummy, Gin Rummy, Go Fish, War, Pinochle, Canasta, Poker & Solitaire. Also a few other card-type games like Uno & Skip-Bo. I LOVE playing cards! (Hey....bridge is listed twice..... |
| anoddoblivion | (reply to Iseult) posted 19-Sep-2001 11:25pm And Hare Krishna---Thx for the pick up, it was really getting me down. I was on the edge of the bridge with my knees bent when someone said "Look, it's above 50%" I then feel back into humanity with the last struggle... OK, you get the point. |
| mandy | posted 20-Sep-2001 1:22am Crazy 8's |
| Gamera | posted 20-Sep-2001 1:56am I love playing cards, but the only game I play with any regularity is Poker. |
| spidertea | posted 20-Sep-2001 11:07am Most of these and more. I grew up on cards! |
| icurok | (reply to Biggles) posted 20-Sep-2001 12:36pm I found a link for a set of rules to crap-head here. Do you remember Chase the Ace, Cheat or Raps? |
| Cleo | posted 20-Sep-2001 1:57pm EUCHRE ?? Never heard of that one. But,I've played just about all of the above except,BRIDGE,SPADES & HEARTS. But,now that I see above, that Bridge is the same as RUMMY,then I guess Ive played BRIDGE/RUMMY.....also. Question? What's the difference between HEARTS & SPADES besides the obvious? I mean, are there different rules to these two card games? They sound like they'er pretty much similar. Is'nt BLACK JACK the same as 21 ?? I 've played that too. My favorite card game is a Japanese card playing game called SAKURA also known as HANAFUDA. Which has a soft deck(much like the Bicycle deck of cards) & also a small hard deck. |
| ASexyBabesToy | (reply to Cleo) posted 20-Sep-2001 2:06pm Euchre is played somewhat like spades. There is a trump suit but it can be any suit (this is decided by the players). It's a much quicker game. It is generally played with 9 through Ace. The order of the trump cards is different too. It's my favorite game. |
| Biggles | (reply to icurok) posted 20-Sep-2001 2:06pm Yes, yes and no! I have played chase the ace, but Cheat is much more fun! I lost all my early games because I couldn't lie convincingly - I soon learned! |
| Cleo | (reply to ASexyBabesToy) posted 20-Sep-2001 2:12pm Ohhhhhhhh, kinda like playing Trumps then? |
| Cleo | (reply to ASexyBabesToy) posted 20-Sep-2001 2:14pm Also, isn't 21,one in the same as Black Jack? |
| Biggles | (reply to Cleo) posted 20-Sep-2001 3:14pm American Blackjack is the same as 21, but UK Blackjack is different. We call 21, Pontoon. |
| phi | (reply to romkey) posted 20-Sep-2001 3:32pm I've seen it in print as 'Mao', with the explanation that in Communist China and particularly under Mao one never knew from one minute to the next what the rules were. |
| ASexyBabesToy | (reply to Cleo) posted 20-Sep-2001 3:53pm I believe it's the same game. |
| icurok | (reply to Biggles) posted 20-Sep-2001 4:08pm Raps was a variant on Chase the Ace, except at the end the loser had their knuckles "rapped" with the deck of cards. |
| romkey | (reply to phi) posted 20-Sep-2001 9:00pm ah... |
| autumnlight | posted 21-Sep-2001 9:13am Rummy, Bridge, Solitaire, Fish, Chase the Ace, Spoons, Cheat,Pontoon, also a game I learned at college called Craphead. |
| Cleo | (reply to Biggles) posted 21-Sep-2001 1:29pm Hummmm,just wondering.Okay now,this 21/Pontoon what is that similar to? |
| Cleo | (reply to ASexyBabesToy) posted 21-Sep-2001 1:31pm Ohhhhhh,okay. |
| nasale | posted 23-Sep-2001 11:50am I used to play cards many, many moons ago. Then I got turned off and can't stand it now. |
| Missalee | posted 25-Sep-2001 11:43pm most games I know how to play... |
