| mary | posted 12-Sep-2001 5:39pm I didn't know that was the meaning of "goody goody". I thought a goody goody was something like a dork that never does anything against the rules. |
| Iseult | posted 12-Sep-2001 6:04pm Sometimes I can be... |
| confetti | posted 12-Sep-2001 6:06pm No. People who feel they need to change their personality to look superior to others distress me. |
| juliw | posted 12-Sep-2001 6:44pm Not at all. I try to be a good person, but I am well aware of my faults and shortcomings. With me, pretty much what you see is what you get. I am not two faced. but I do try to spare the feelings of others. |
| juliw | (reply to mary) posted 12-Sep-2001 6:46pm That's what I thought, too. |
| jkiehart | posted 12-Sep-2001 7:23pm no |
| Jemmy | posted 12-Sep-2001 8:33pm I hope not. |
| Oscar | posted 12-Sep-2001 10:15pm Not according to that definition, I'm not. |
| Cleo | posted 12-Sep-2001 10:31pm I'm a rebel!!! |
| Enheduanna | posted 12-Sep-2001 10:43pm That's not really how I'd define goody-goody, but OK, whatever... |
| mandy | posted 12-Sep-2001 11:03pm baddy baddy |
| Irene007 | posted 13-Sep-2001 12:13am NO! I'm way too cynical for that. I had a co-worker that thought that everyone was cute, no matter how stupid the comment that they made, it invoked her "he's so cute" comment. Everyone had justifiable reasons for screwing up. Everyone had a right to their faults and etc... I called her a "tree-huger"! So she named her hard drive on our network "esoterictreehuginguser" (the esoteric part comes from her early efforts to design everything with a message that only the "artist" could interpret!") This same person has so much difficulty in making the simplest of decisions; when we go out to lunch, as I give my order to the waitress, I (seemingly joking) tell the waitress that my friend will give her order next week. I AM exaggerating of course, though she does order only by the time my main course is served! She thinks that her quirks (of which she is well aware of) are funny and cute, I don't think she knows how exasperating she can be to others. Maybe if she stopped thinking about all of the poor souls in the world, and considered the people immediately around her, her life would be simpler.... Ours too! She's a great person, with much talent but too much consideration for unnecessary things... I consider HER a goody-goody. And YES Papyrus, if you should find the time to visit this site eventually...I know that you will recognize yourself! (and me!) |
| darkshadowsseeker | posted 13-Sep-2001 2:00am Lordy NO! I can't imagine anyone thinking I'm a goody-goody! |
| anoddoblivion | posted 13-Sep-2001 12:58pm People sometimes think I am because I am pure of heart and mind and soul and whatever or however the saying goes, then they will see me at a party. Well, I only go to parties whenever my friends really want me to and I know it will just be my closest friends, then I don't engage in any of the uncueth activities that they do sometimes and I don't drink a drop (ever, for that matter). I am usually stuck to the pool table, TV, video games, or a chair in the corner of the room, as to stay away from all the weirdos that my show up. See, I am even a "good" boy when at places that bring out the worse in us. |
| anoddoblivion | posted 13-Sep-2001 1:01pm That's the definition I've always had. Sorry if it means multiple things. I should have put "For purposes of the survey, we will use this definiton:". I'm learning more and more each day. Pretty cool. |
| ASexyBabesToy | posted 13-Sep-2001 1:19pm No |
| kaleb777 | posted 13-Sep-2001 1:42pm I am a good person to good people. butt-holes experience my wrath. In no way do people think I'm a goody-goody. They seem to think I get up to wild sex orgies and weekend long drug sessions. |
| kaleb777 | (reply to mandy) posted 13-Sep-2001 1:43pm So you do nothing but everyone thinks you do? |
| Biggles | (reply to kaleb777) posted 13-Sep-2001 3:30pm You mean, you don't?! |
| Biggles | posted 13-Sep-2001 3:32pm I don't agree with this definition of goody goody. But I do kind of fit the above definition.......- people are beginning to learn I'm not as sweet and innocent as I sometimes appear, I'm sure it's just in comparison to *some* people! |
| Brian | posted 13-Sep-2001 4:41pm I've never been so insulted in my life. |
| Biggles | (reply to Brian) posted 13-Sep-2001 5:13pm The hardest insults to take are those that find their target...... |
| blazerchic01 | posted 13-Sep-2001 7:39pm I've always been a goody-goody. People hated me in high school for it I think. I can't help it though. I look nice and innocent, but I have a sure-fire wild side! |
| Zang | posted 13-Sep-2001 9:29pm Everyone? Not likely. I'm sure there are some people who see me that way. I'm polite. I have fairly high moral standards for myself. I do good works. I'm generous, kind and caring. But I can be a little naughty now and then... http://www.quinion.com/words/qa/qa-goo2.htm |
| mandy | (reply to kaleb777) posted 13-Sep-2001 10:56pm *screams* BINGO! You get the grand prize!!! *Holds out her closed hands* Pick a hand...... |
| autumnlight | posted 14-Sep-2001 8:26am I was a goody goody at school but not at all anymore. |

| kaleb777 | (reply to Biggles) posted 14-Sep-2001 3:01pm I study, garden and talk to you guys on SC. When I go to work guys ask me about who I screwed on the weekend and women giggle when I talk (I tend to swear a lot) and tell me how naughty I am but won't leave me alone. I must put out some rough persona. I'm really a home body, although I did get up to some nasty stuff during my 20's. I've calmed down a lot. Maybe people get the vibe that I'm 'world weary' and jaded, and think that if I am this way at 32, I must be constantly partying or something. |
| kaleb777 | (reply to mandy) posted 14-Sep-2001 3:06pm Somehoe I get the impression you do everything people think you do, and more! > |
| Biggles | (reply to kaleb777) posted 14-Sep-2001 3:55pm Don't be world-weary! You're only 32. You must have got a good 35 years left at least if you continue your "home body" lifestyle! |
| Biggles | (reply to Brian) posted 14-Sep-2001 4:04pm Don't cry Brian...... Your tears are salty and I spent a whole lesson working out how to find the lattice enthalpy of formation of NaCl. No more salt!!! |

| Biggles | (reply to kaleb777) posted 14-Sep-2001 4:58pm I said *at least*!!! Don't misquote me!! |
| kaleb777 | (reply to Biggles) posted 14-Sep-2001 5:10pm I've thoght about it and I would rather live that old *at most*. The idea of a pubic area with only one or two extra long grey hairs doesn't sound real good. |
| Biggles | (reply to kaleb777) posted 14-Sep-2001 5:19pm Hairs and nothing else?! |
| kaleb777 | (reply to Biggles) posted 14-Sep-2001 5:39pm Probably not. Probably what looks like a couple of sultanas. |

| Gamera | posted 18-Sep-2001 2:04am If a goody-goody is someone who everyone thinks is pure of heart and spirit and mind but really isn't, then what do you call someone who really is? |
