I've been told I'm strange, but I was not treated as though I was less than human.

No, and if they did, then I would think they were pretty stupid.

No, I guess I have good taste...

Aw! Just kidding, I listen to all kinds of stuff; one day Dean Martin the next, Kid Rock. My taste in reading material as well as in films is just as eclectic.

Given how some humans treat their fellows, "less than human" would be pretty bad indeed.

Not that I recall. I don't think I would care, anyways.

"Less than human" sounds a bit harsh. My penchant for heavy metal when I was 15/16 set me apart from most of the other kids in school.

As I've grown older, I've tended to find that I get the funny looks for admitting to things I *don't* like. (eg; "How can you not like Four Weddings and a Funeral!?!")

Yes. I am by nature pure of mind, body, souls and heart. So movies Like American Pie and like the stupid Big Butt song just aren't cool. And the books I read are long fantasy books, but n one really cares about that. They just think I'm crazy because they laugh at people egging on sex whenever that is a big problem in our life. Let's just teach our kids (and everybody for that matter) that sex and curesing and drugs and gangs and being a looser with "excuses" are all good, rightful things to do.

Good point daver.

Not saying I'm not treated this way because I'm trying not to sin...

I was treated like less than human between 6 and 10 by my "pals" at school.I suppose it was something terrible in me!God knows what! I was a nice girl... My tastes in music,books...are often condemned by everyone : mainstream'ers ,"alternatives" all of them don't-think-just-follow-the-rules people > * frown *

I know a certain someone who seems to act superior to Star Wars fans, thinking of them as less than intelligent. In fact, she evens tried to debunk an argument of mine, not with facts, not with eloqunce, but with, "You're a Star Wars fan right? * smile * " This person shall remain nameless.

Actually, in a way, it makes more sense for you to watch it than men. I've never understood why in all my time on the net, the most homophobic people I've come across are WWF fans. WWF, which is a bunch of greased-up musclemen in shiny pants groping each other for the pleasure of others. Ironic, don't you think? But anyway, why do you like it? Is it for the love of the art of wrestling, or is it the "storylines"?

Hee hee. I see what you mean! * smile *

It cant be the storylines! The storylines are the worst thing about it! WWF was much better about a year or two ago.At the moment I am considering switching off cos the storylines are that bad. I actually like the wrestling. I'm also watching Tough Enough where people are being trained by WWF wrestlers to gain contracts.

Not having Sky, the only time I ever see it is if i'm awake at the ridiculous hour that Channel 4 show it now (not likely), or if they have the TV in the pub tuned to Sky Sports. I agree that the story-lines make the shows virtually unwatchable, but I understand why they do it. Its a device to make sure you have to watch it every week in case you "miss" something, although this makes it the opposite of most American soap operas going. I remember the plots in Sunset Beach were so slow, somebody could nip down the newsagents to get the Sunday papers and not come back for 6 months. Wedding ceremonies took weeks. But every time I see WWF on TV, I'm left asking my mate, "Who's he?", "Why is she with him now?", "Wasn't he mates with him 2 weeks ago?". And since that whole WWF/WCW crossover thing, its all get far too confusing.

Sunset Beach!! Oh my God! I used to watch the omnibus for 5 hours every Sunday! Yes, I am that sad! * smile * You know the whole thing with Meg and Ben turned out to be a dream!!!I was sooo annoyed!

I HATE the crossover thing with the WCW. Good wrestlers are being ignored (like Billy Gunn and Kane) to make way for the ones in the Alliance. I know what you mean about you missing stuff! I didn't watch it for about 2 months and started again and Stone Cold had gone evil and lots more scantily clad blondes I'd never heard of were on the arms of wrestlers I'd never heard of! I mainly watch it now for the Undertaker and the Hardy Boys!

most of my life i have been treated as an outsider....less than human started after a few years and started to develop my own opinion on things....i always ventured in the world of extreme....movies, music, literature....mainly music....it all started with the dreaded Cannibal Corpse, lol, i can deal with most of the crap, but it does get to you after awhile...well, it gets to you more, when people who call you a "sick fudge" are just as sick as the the music i listen to suggests...beating women, disrespectful...just being a plain chicken to everyone....and they seem to be the people getting ahead in life?? what a joke.....oh, yeah the music i listen is extreme, gore, death type stuff...but thats all the mainstreams doing with all there pop, melodramatic crap.

All the time because of the way I dress and the music I listen to. Not so bad nowadays because of all the "mini moshers" and the "trendy" "gothic look" being in fashion, but a couple of years ago I went through hell.

Which is pretty silly of them, considering it's more admirable to see someone being themselves than being trendy.

but doesn't that piss you off Mina? what i mean is, that you went through all hell and its fury to be who you are, and now they all take over, with no thanks, with no regret, with no forethought, with no nothing to show appreciation to where they are today?

its pretty F*@cked up, but thats life i spose...
