My birthday's in December - right before Christmas.

My mum's just put a sheet over the monitor because she wants me to go to bed. If my typing is a bit rubbishy, it's her fault!!!

It says it's Aquamarine, but I personally believe it's Amethist or Emerald.

Opal
I don't like the Rose Zircon and I didn't know Tourmaline was Octobers. If it is, I thinks it pretty and goes nicely with an opal.

When I was 8 years old, I had a real peridot in a 24kt gold setting menat for a chain. The stone is really clear or very light green in different lighting. I was too young to realize it's worth - it was just something my older sister gave me and I don't think that she even realized that it was my birth stone at the time. So I gave it away to my neighbour. I sure would like to have it today!

I had a stroke on August 18, and just got out of the hospital Thursday (September 6). I am feeling great, but I still have to walk with a walker for a while. I have to take lots of prescriptions and watch fat and salt in my diet. But I make progress every day. I couldn't even write my name two weeks ago! I hope things are going better for you. I missed talking to everybody here at SC.

Please read my comment to jkiehart about my stroke. BTW, while I was gone, did Twistermime change her user name to Mandy? I went into the hospital on August 16 ( my and Mallory's birthday) with shortness of breath and extremely high blood pressure, and had a stroke two days later, while I was still in the hospital. It was scary, but I feel good now, and have a very positive outlook. I feel so lucky and blessed. I could have died, lost my speech and memory, etc.

Opal. I think they're really pretty, but for some reason almost all the jewelry made from them is really ugly. People seem to be incapable of coming up for attractive settings for them. I recently saw a pretty opal bracelet though; it was just little opal beads strung together. Very simple.

Thanks! I feel great, and am making progress every day. My doctor said at the rate things are going, he wouldn't be surprised if I made a full recovery in 3 or 4 months. So that is what I want for Christmas.

Thank you! I am doing just fine, and am really surprised how much more I can do now than I could two weeks ago. I still use a walker, but that is okay. Eventually, I might walk with a cane, or with neither a cane nor a walker (that is, I will walk normally again hopefully).

Nope - I don't have any pain. Well, except that it is a pain walking with a walker, and that people have to help me on steps. But, hey, a couple weeks ago, I couldn't walk at all, so I have come a long way. I was really fortunate, there. Thanks for thinking of me.
