I love Ramen! One of the best staples for a horrendous cook like me. I like to boil the noodles and then fry them. It's definitely a yum-yuck situation.

I usually eat it like soup, but if I'm really hungry I'll put an egg in it.

Oh, and I discovered by mistake that I like it better if I let it cook longer so most of the liquid cooks out, and the noodles get kind of mushy.

I cook it al dente then pour it into a large saimin bowl add julenne sliced Spam, thinly sliced green onions,(omelette like cooked)eggs sliced julenne style,Kamaboku(Japanese fish cake),bean sprouts,Kim Chee(spicy Chinese WonBok Cabbage) & Tofu. & when available,Char sui(Chinese sweet red pork)Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.Hungry now! Great survey.More food related surveys........

BTW in Hawaii this dish is called Saimin & they have places called Saimin Stands that serve this along with Teriyaki soaked BarBQ meat on a stick. Kinda like you would have hambugers with fries. Well, it's Saimin & BarBQ meat there.

I usually add some vegetables and a splash of tabasco, then pour boiling water over the whole mess. I start eating once the noodles will bend.

For a quick Asian soup, I like to add fresh grated ginger, fresh greens (like cilantro and shallots) and a little cooked shrimp or chicken. Mmm! C'est si bon!

Butter, with a little barbecue sauce.

I drain some of the water after they have made the noodles mushy, and then put in flavoring. If you put in the flavoring, then drain some or all of the water out, then the flavoring (which is mostly in the water, barley clinging to the noodle) is all gone.

I also must add stuff like season salt, and is I have some type of meat, I might add it, if I'm not lazy.

I break up the noodles before I cook 'em. Used to eat ramen alot when I was a poor college student. You could eat for a week on just a little bit of cash. Now days I eat them out of nostalgia more than anything else.

Yep!!! I sure did.....I just don't know what's up with the U.S. postal system lately!! Your like the 4th Sc user to have problems with the mail.*wink*

Jkiehart's name mailed out ....Friday 8/10.......Received...Sun 8/26
Miaow...........mailed out.....Friday 8/10.......Received...Tue 8/21

Kate's package could have gotten frequent flyer mileages, had it been a human being. But,that was my fault, not the post office.
Kate's name was sent out on 8/8 but it was returned to me,inadvertently I had put the numbers for her address, too closely like:
(123 4th St.) (12 34th St.) so her package was returned to me.& I had to send it back to her again 8/23 (the same day I had sent Jkiehart's 2nd name, cause she STILL hadn't received the 1st name yet)*frown*

Yours & ASBT's names were sent out the same day as Bills,Tuesday 8/21.But,Bill received his name this past Saturday 8/25.*smile*

But,look at this,I had sent Biggles name on Mon.8/13 & she had received hers on Saturday 8/18 & she lives all the way on the other side of the world.**scratching her head**Go figure.... I just don't know what's up with our postal system. It should be there this week.......for sure...*smile*

BTW,I mailed your name today, but the postal service is something less to be desired. I give it 4 *frown* *frown* *frown* *frown*
