| Jemmy | posted 31-Jul-2001 7:27pm It depends on how much I could get someone to pay for them. |
| confetti | posted 31-Jul-2001 7:33pm I'm not giving any part of my body away until I die (oh, except for donating blood. But I'm not even old enough to do so yet!!! > |
| daver | posted 31-Jul-2001 8:40pm I'm not really interested in the potential legal entanglements. Barring that, they would just need to ask nicely. |
| daver | (reply to confetti) posted 31-Jul-2001 8:45pm Haven't you spent some time in the UK? If you've been there for more than 6 months total, the Red Cross won't take your blood (although a hospital might). Something to do with Mad Limey Disease. |
| confetti | (reply to daver) posted 31-Jul-2001 9:03pm That's right, I remember reading about it. Yes, I have spent quite a lot of time in Europe. But I live in Central America. |
| natsim | posted 31-Jul-2001 9:22pm I have major ethical problems with IVF when there are so many children in the world who need foster care or adoption. I would not sell my eggs. |
| Oscar | posted 31-Jul-2001 9:39pm I would give my eggs to my sister, but I would want a couple thousand from a stranger. |
| Oscar | (reply to confetti) posted 31-Jul-2001 9:40pm Are you serious? Blondes get more? That's kinda interesting. How old are you? I know that where I live you can donate under the age of 18 but you need parental consent. Maybe your parents would let you donate if you wanted to. |
| mandy | posted 31-Jul-2001 10:06pm Now that I've seen what one of my children is like, and how much she means to me, and how valuable she is as a human being...I cannot think of my eggs with any less potential than that and that makes them extremely precious. I could never NOT have a part in raising someone who formed from my eggs. |
| darkshadowsseeker | posted 1-Aug-2001 2:11am We have a genetic disorder in my family that I have a 50 per cent chance of passing on, so no, I wouldn't sell or donate my eggs even if I was younger. |
| kaleb777 | posted 1-Aug-2001 3:49am More than $30k with the condition that the kid NEVER contact me. |
| micah | posted 1-Aug-2001 5:15am I usually charge around $500/orgasm, depending on the client. Prostitution has always been an interesting business... |
| Enheduanna | posted 1-Aug-2001 10:55am As much as they're willing to pay for them, really. |
| confetti | (reply to Oscar) posted 1-Aug-2001 5:53pm I mean it. Since blondes are considered the standard of beauty, of course their eggs will be worth more. I read a really interesting story lately about this topic...it showed these two absolutely beautiful women--almost flawless--and the blonde one had her eggs priced almost three times as much as the brunette. I'm fourteen. I would like to, but you can't until you're 18. Period. |
| ASexyBabe | posted 1-Aug-2001 8:13pm they arent for sale but if I was going to sell them it would have to be for a hell of a lot more than 30 grand, more like $250,000.00 |
| Oscar | (reply to confetti) posted 1-Aug-2001 9:37pm I wish I would have known that before my blonde hair turned red. lol |

| jkiehart | posted 1-Aug-2001 10:46pm 5-10,000 minimum. I understand it's a painful process for a woman to donate her eggs. |
| Oscar | (reply to jkiehart) posted 2-Aug-2001 8:54pm from what I understand they just shove a camera up her crotch to find the ovaries and take the eggs out with a needle...I could be wrong though |
| Pooh_Bear | (reply to Oscar) posted 2-Aug-2001 10:01pm Um, and that wouldn't be painful? In fact, it takes three to four weeks to be a successful donor. Women have to go through about 2 - 2 1/2 weeks of daily hormone injections that cause various side effects. Then the procedure requires a general anesthetic and is considered invasive surgery. There's recovery time and chaotic emotions from hormones being artificially added, the removed from the woman's body. So, it's not just "shove a camera up her crotch...", it's much more involved, physically and emotionally. |
| SueBee | posted 3-Aug-2001 1:37am If someone wanted them, I could use the money, but after reading about the procedure, it would cost way more than $30,000!! On the other hand, if it was a close friend or family member, I'd do it for nothing (beyond whatever expense is involved). |
| Oscar | (reply to Pooh_Bear) posted 3-Aug-2001 10:35am I wasn't saying it was a simple procedure. I know that there is a lot more involved. |
| jkiehart | (reply to Oscar) posted 3-Aug-2001 12:13pm In order to ensure that the eggs are good, they pump the woman FULL of hormones. You have to take a mess of pills every day for a month or two, and it really messes with your body and your moods. Then there's the painful extraction process... I read some magazine article profiling a few women who donated their eggs, and none of the women had anything good to say about the process. |
| jkiehart | (reply to Oscar) posted 3-Aug-2001 12:14pm What Pooh_Bear said, too |
| Biggles | (reply to confetti) posted 3-Aug-2001 2:53pm You could come to the UK to donate blood - doesn't matter if you've spent time in Europe then! You won't give any part of your body until you die? What about a kidney if a member of your family needed a transplant, or bone marrow? |
| confetti | (reply to Biggles) posted 3-Aug-2001 5:58pm Well, I don't know. It's kind of a scary prospect! I would give a part of my body to my child or husband if they needed a transplant. But if it were anyone else of my nuclear family, I would probably just tell them to use Silly Putty instead. Oh, that's so mean. I just wish I could like them better |
| Biggles | (reply to confetti) posted 4-Aug-2001 10:23am I think you're right - you shouldn't donate a kidney unless you really cared about someone, there are things that can go wrong and you may find yourself in a situation where *your* only remaining kidney fails. Do you carry a donor card? (Do they have things like that where you live?) |
| confetti | (reply to Biggles) posted 4-Aug-2001 12:47pm No. I think the only thing I have like that is my blood type, written in my Hello Kitty agenda. Sheesh! We should probably have them. |
| Biggles | (reply to confetti) posted 4-Aug-2001 1:17pm Even if you have one, they still have to ask your next-of-kin's permission to use your organs so as long as they know your wishes and agree it should be okay. A donor card just lets the doctors know that they have someone whose family will probably give permission. That way they can keep you on a machine and pumping blood into you until they can get that permission. What's you blood type? All I know is that I shouldn't be O because my Dad's an A and my Mum's an AB (so I could be A, B or AB). I don't know what they are with regards to Rhesus or Kell though. |
| TheBlackAdder | posted 4-Aug-2001 2:22pm If someone is willing to pay something for the little swimmers, I'll take their money. Of course, the details of the situation would have a reasonable effect on how much I might ask for. |
| confetti | (reply to Biggles) posted 4-Aug-2001 4:39pm I'm B. But if you don't know your blood type, that's okay because they'll just use O on you, since it's neutral. I honestly don't know how the hell I know that. |
| Gamera | posted 4-Aug-2001 8:38pm I would donate, if there was a really good reason. |
| iworshipblink | posted 4-Aug-2001 9:27pm id donate them |
| Biggles | (reply to confetti) posted 5-Aug-2001 9:39am They will just pump you with O in an emergency but they don't like doing it! There are too many things that can go wrong - remember A and B antigens aren't the only ones present in blood. Otherwise they'd only bother getting blood from O donors and my Dad would be out of a job! (He ensures that blood is a close enough match to be issued for people with particular immune disorders.) |
| mikecap | posted 5-Aug-2001 10:17am As much as I can get. :) |
| confetti | (reply to Biggles) posted 5-Aug-2001 12:46pm Right. |
| dlp34 | posted 8-Aug-2001 4:42pm Since I've been fixed, I'd want hundreds of thousands of dollars from someone who was able to have children with it. |
| they | posted 12-Aug-2001 3:36am Not for sale. My children will be raised by me. |
| spidertea | posted 16-Aug-2001 2:00am I heard it's really hard on the female body to donate eggs. I would have to learn more about the procedure. |
