| heyzeus1 | posted 22-Jul-2001 11:42am medium rare with mushrooms |
| kaleb777 | posted 22-Jul-2001 12:50pm Medium, marinated in soy sauce and eaten with sweet chili sauce. |
| daver | posted 22-Jul-2001 1:21pm It depends on the quality and cut of the meat: generally rare to medium rare. If I eat raw meat, it's usually cut into smaller than steak-sized pieces. |
| cB | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 22-Jul-2001 1:42pm I also like medium rare in most cases. But i don't like mushrooms |
| Biggles | posted 22-Jul-2001 2:14pm I'm a vegetarian. |
| mandy | posted 22-Jul-2001 3:12pm Medium. I usually order Prime Rib. It's my favorite. |
| jkiehart | posted 22-Jul-2001 3:18pm Medium well. What is "blue"? I've never heard that before. |
| Matt | (reply to jkiehart) posted 22-Jul-2001 4:22pm Blue is hardly cooked. |
| darkshadowsseeker | posted 22-Jul-2001 4:30pm Medium rare and I prefer T-bone steak when I can get it. |
| heyzeus1 | (reply to cB) posted 22-Jul-2001 5:16pm love love love love mushrooms. they taste just like meat if you cook em right |
| jkiehart | (reply to Matt) posted 22-Jul-2001 5:32pm eeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwww I'm sorry I asked! |
| phi | posted 22-Jul-2001 5:57pm Run quickly through a warm room. Seriously, if it's very good steak, I want it cold in the middle. Otherwise, I want it a dark pink in the middle. |

| confetti | posted 22-Jul-2001 7:08pm I don't like steak but I really like guys that can cook steak. |
| cB | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 22-Jul-2001 11:20pm I still don't agree! |
| jettles | posted 23-Jul-2001 7:27am i don't eat meat. |
| ASB | posted 23-Jul-2001 8:38am medium rare mmmmMMMMmmm this survey makes me hungry |
| cpierson | posted 23-Jul-2001 9:51am Medium rare, shading toward rare, with either a teriyaki marinade or a good pepper rub. I've never been able to fathom why anyone would cook a steak to death, but each to his own. |
| Jemmy | posted 23-Jul-2001 10:26am I don't really care for steak. |
| Brian | posted 23-Jul-2001 5:30pm Scorched. 'Cause that's the only way I know how to make 'em. |
| juliw | posted 23-Jul-2001 6:06pm medium well-no pink |
| LiLaEfAe | posted 23-Jul-2001 7:23pm Steak, ahh, the best tasting, jucy, *drools* .. ahem! where was i? oh, yes, steak. It so good medium rare it's amazing. |
| LiLaEfAe | (reply to ASB) posted 23-Jul-2001 7:24pm I know exactly how u feel! |
| Cleo | posted 24-Jul-2001 1:47am Need I say more? This is a good survey! More food surveys! Yay! I like my steak blood rare sometimes, other times medium rare.Depending on the cut of steak.Served with macaroni/potato salad & a scoop of hot rice with shou sauce. |
| SueBee | posted 24-Jul-2001 2:02am Last time I ordered a steak medium rare, it was served to me totally cold and bloody in the middle, and I didn't have the heart to send it back so I suffered through it. Now I order it medium because I'd rather have it cooked too much than not enough. |
| SueBee | (reply to Brian) posted 24-Jul-2001 2:03am Just don't cook it as long, silly! |
| Brian | (reply to SueBee) posted 24-Jul-2001 8:59am It has nothing to do with how long. One person recommended that I stop putting charcoal lighter fluid directly on the steaks. Seems reasonable. I'll try it next time. |
| Miaow | posted 24-Jul-2001 10:09am Rare; blue in very, very good steakhouses. The outside must be well-seared though. And no marinades and crap, that's for stewing beef. Just a little steak seasoning and maybe a small pat of butter. |
| callen610 | posted 24-Jul-2001 10:28am Medium Well |
| Wicksy | posted 24-Jul-2001 12:43pm in an oven |
| Enheduanna | posted 25-Jul-2001 12:12pm I don't eat meat these days, but when I did, medium rare. |
| phi | (reply to SueBee) posted 25-Jul-2001 11:44pm But if it's too rare they can fix it by cooking it some more, which they can't do if it's overdone. |
| SueBee | (reply to phi) posted 26-Jul-2001 1:30am That's a good point. But I hate to disrupt dinner by sending it back to the kitchen, and as long as it's not cooked more than medium well I still enjoy it. Hey, if that was you who answered the phone the other day, you have a nice voice. |

| NANNERMUFFlN | posted 5-Aug-2001 10:49am Medium. I order Medium and get Medium Well almost every time. Doesn't matter how you like your steak if the cook doesn't know the difference, you're gonna get what THEY like. Rare=cool red center, Medium Rare=warm red center, Medium=pink center, Medium Well=trace of pink, Well=no pink. It ought to be illegal what they do to a good Omaha steak here in Texas. |
| ASB | (reply to NANNERMUFFlN) posted 7-Aug-2001 1:15pm What do they do to steak in Texas? |
| NANNERMUFFlN | (reply to ASB) posted 7-Aug-2001 9:16pm Grill it to within an inch of it's life! Not that I want my steak to ooze blood or anything, but cooking the life out of a beautiful cut of corn-fed Nebraska beef is just a crime. Cattle down here aren't generally corn-fed and there really is a difference in the way the beef tastes. If you're lucky enough to get your fangs on corn-fed beef, treat it tenderly. |
| vashti | posted 13-Aug-2001 4:00am Steak shouldn't be cooked.... it should remain as part of the living cow... |
| autumnlight | posted 6-Sep-2001 11:00am medium rare, still like a little blood in there |
| dora | posted 21-Sep-2001 4:01pm I don't eat meat often but when I do I want it BLOODY and RAW! |
