Which of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer characters (past or present) do you most relate to?

I did this survey a few years ago, but there seems to be more fans now and I'm interested to see if the responses have changed.

BuffyGuide can provide you with additional information about the series and its characters.

Still Xander and in a roundabout way Faith.

I never get to watch it, but I do identify with Buffy. She also looks like a blonde version of me, which is pretty creepy.

Dawn, Spike, Willow about equal, then Tara and Xander, and a little Joyce (not enough to mark it).

I saw the movie, but I haven't seen the TV series more than half an episode!

None yet, since I've never seen an entire episode, but I hope to remedy that soon!

Have you actually seen the show? If yes, what don't you like?

I find myself a combination of Willow and Buffy. Probably more Willow.

Spike & Drusilla-they were great when they were a couple. Now Spike is all drooly over Buffy to the point of having a Buffy robot built. It was like something right out of the "Stepford Wives!" His character is starting to look more like a teenage boy with his first crush than an evil vampire.

I have seen it, but couldn't get into it. Maybe it was all the vampires looking like jocks or cheerleaders that put me off. I think it's a Eurocentric form of cultural imperialism and simply perpetuates European culture and myths throughout the world. (The last sentence was just me being a blowhard. I really just couldn't get into the show. I'm the same way with "Charmed")

well a lot of the vamps are high school kids... hence jocks and cheerleaders...

I finally watched a whole episode today and it was really good! It ended "to be continued" and I groaned. I think it'll take me awhile to figure out the background of the characters, but it was fun to watch even though I don't know them yet.

Fair enough. Just making sure you weren't turned off by the name or something (like a lot of other critics). And, I agree with you about charmed.

Hi Sweetie!! It was the episode where Ben is Glory and Glory is Ben. Buffy was spacing out and thinking she killed Dawn. Willow saved the day!

Is Buffy a real girls name in the US? I can't believe some of the names. I haven't seen an entire episode but since the main character is female I'm guessing there is at least one neurotic, nerdy, geek type guy who has to be helped out by Buffy. It's all about female empowerment. I mean look at the geek Xena hung around.

Well, I don't know anyone named Buffy. I think it's more of a joke name, to typify the blonde, bimbo, airhead. There is one character, Xander, who started as the character you describe, but they've done a lot of development and he's come into his own these days.

I went to high school with a girl named Buff. Actually, her legal name is Barbara, but everyone calls her Buff. But I've never known a Buffy except the TV character from Family Affair in the 60s.

Oohh, that's pretty late in the series(end of this season just past). I hope you get a chance to get all sucked into all the characters in the earlier episodes a bit, too.

Why are the ugliest pets given names like that? I suppose it's better than yelling "here Smelly Smelly" from your back door.

It may not be a common name now but you can bet a few people hve named their kid Buffy since this show started. I know a woman who named her kid Keanu. Needless to say he gets the crap beaten out of him at school.

I will as soon as I find some earlier episodes to watch. We got into The X-Files after it had been on for a few years by watching a bunch of older reruns. I just have some catching up to do. * smile *
