If you could travel in an elevator from one side of the earth to the other, would you come out of it upside-down?

Yes. And younger, too. | | daver | | posted 12-Jul-2001 9:41pm |
Assuming I wasn't toasted to a crisp, I'd be too busy playing in free fall in the middle to keep track of up and down. As I passed the center and drifted to the "ceiling" I'd stand on it, arriving right-side up. | jettles | | posted 12-Jul-2001 9:56pm |
uh huh | romkey | | posted 12-Jul-2001 9:58pm |
did you start out right-side-up?
| | natsim | | posted 12-Jul-2001 10:13pm |
I think you'd probably turn around as you got to the other side. I can't walk on my hands so I definitely wouldn't come out of it upside down. | | drdt | | posted 12-Jul-2001 11:01pm |
I would design such an elevator to turn the rider over at the appropriate point. | | natsim | | (reply to drdt) posted 13-Jul-2001 2:51am |
You are so cool! | | Cleo | | posted 13-Jul-2001 4:19am |

You come out of it a smoldering heap. | | justjulie | | posted 13-Jul-2001 8:31am |

As I went through zero G in the center of the Earth I'd be having fun flying around and stuff. As gravity reappeared, I'd orient myself heads up again. | Enheduanna | | posted 13-Jul-2001 9:06am |
No. Somewhere in the middle I'd probably turn around. Or melt. | | Miaow | | posted 13-Jul-2001 10:38am |

You'd be upside down as soon as you passed the center of the Earth. ...not to mention completely weightless. | Maarten | | posted 13-Jul-2001 11:48am |
No, you'd fall down to what was first the ceiling. | | Gamera | | posted 13-Jul-2001 12:19pm |
Nah, I figure I'll have lots of time after passing through the earth's core, to flip myself over. | | juliw | | posted 13-Jul-2001 1:38pm |
Nope, don't think so. | | Jemmy | | posted 13-Jul-2001 3:14pm |
Not if I started out upside-down. | | Brian | | posted 13-Jul-2001 3:15pm |
Which side? Outside or inside? | | gilly | | posted 13-Jul-2001 3:38pm |
No. I'd be right side up; it's everything around me that would be upside-down. | | phi | | posted 13-Jul-2001 6:07pm |
That depends. If I take an elevator straight up past the end of its shaft, my radial velocity will decrease as my moment of inertia increases, and the earth will pass under me. If I landed when the other side of the planet is underneath the elevator, I would come out right side up. If on the other hand I took it through the earth's core in a shaft, I would fall on my head somewhere past the middle, and if I neglected to pick myself up off the ceiling (or if I attached my feet to the floor before embarking) I'd come out upside-down.
The former way of taking an elevator from one side of the earth to the other is much less impractical. | | mandy | | posted 13-Jul-2001 8:54pm |

Gravity would reduce until you were weightless at the core then gravity would increase in the other direction causing you to slowly fall to the ceiling so that when you arrived at the other side of the world you would be standing upright, but on the ceiling of the elevator. | | nudeinthewoods | | posted 16-Jul-2001 9:15pm |

Received your E but was having a problem sending anyone any email. It does seem like were responding to a survey Huh?? I missed that. | | heyzeus1 | | (reply to Cleo) posted 27-Jul-2001 11:28pm |
you did now that those of us who use crappy ole msn were required to change our settings this month or no longer be able to send email right? check for previous emails you recieved from msn and they will tell you how to do this. look for one that has the subject : immediate action required! this is microsofts way of making sure we don't use anyone's program but theirs. the movie was very good, but i am still an avid fan of 'the crystal cave' and would like to see that as a film. | | Cleo | | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 28-Jul-2001 1:04am |
I thought I did that right.Even printed out the directions.Do you think there's any hope of trying it again? Why the hell did MSN require us to go through that stupid process anyways??What a hassle it was.
Today I opened up something that was emailed to me then the stupid thing didn't work at all after that. Not only that but I couldn't tap out to ANY SITE today.I'm so frustrated with MSN!!! I can hardly wait till my contract is up in 2003.I'm getting DSL!!!
I think I should have my friend do it for me. God I hate MSN!!! BTW be expecting a package soon,my husband (David) & I mailed it yesterday afternoon. Please let me know when you & Love Light get it. Your Hawaiian friend Cleo.Aloha!!!
When Avalon comes back on I'm taping it!! | | heyzeus1 | | (reply to Cleo) posted 28-Jul-2001 8:01am |
i agree msn sucks, my contract is up in 2003 too. they do this to be monopolistic. there are other email programs out there besides outlook and other browsers other than ie. msn does this to make sure we can't use them. anyway, you could always call them, i have had to do that before. you can always double check your email settings, you don't even have to be online, if the internet sign up box appears you can ignore it. btw i didn't know you knew kristal! i read in an earlier message that you two went to the hawaiin festival? | | Cleo | | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 28-Jul-2001 3:42pm |
Yeah, ain't it something? I met her one week ago today. She really is cool.I like her a lot. My 16 year old daughter & a couple of her friends, met her at the Hawaiian Festival as well.We had such a great time.Krystal even tried some authentic Hawaiian foods like poi, kalua pig, lomi lomi salmon & lau lau. I was totally impressed that she even considered trying my kinds of food. I was going to attend another Hawaiian festival in September, but my husband(David)says, that we need to start saving,so that I can fly my daughter(Yardley)& my grand daughter(Kyle)to Cali. Oh well !! Don't forget to let me know when you receive that package okay? Avalon....I LOVE that name! Which do prefer to go by??? THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!! We got the gift on Saturday...I cried. That was SOOOO incredibly thoughtful and wonderful of you. I can't wait until he's old enough to appreciate those items for himself...I can just see him running up to the little bank and placing it on the floor and playing w/ it for a minute before he puts those 2 quarters in it....and I can see him clutching the little fork w/ his hand trying to spear a little pea w/it and finally getting one on the tines...sigh.....THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!! Your so very, very welcome babe!! I was hoping you'd like it.You guys just seem so cool, that I felt, that I just had to send you a baby gift.If you were here,I would've threw you a baby shower.David kept saying,if you don't mail it soon,or the baby will be too grown to use the stuff. He made sure I mailed it,before it sat around this room any longer ,& got lost, among all the stuff,I've accumulated over the years.I was going to sign the $ but I just didn't know what to write on it....From the Provin's to baby Noah, with all our Aloha!! (((((HUGS)))) & lots of Aloha kisses your way!! So you like my name huh?? Yeah,my mom thought that she'd be different & name me some strange name like AVALON. I got teased a lot in elementary school.Children can be so mean at times. When I became a teen ager my brother & sister-in-law became my guardians.Well, needless to say my sister-in-law,had other plans for me,she struck up this deal with me,that in order for me to go home with them,I would have to cut my long butt length hair.I agreed, never thinking that she was serious about it,well she was!! She took me straight to the beauty shop & cut my hair the length of Cleopatras hair. I cried!!I cried a lot!! & ran away from home!! My friends saw how distraught I was,so to make me feel better, they said,"Hey,you look like Cleopatra, that way." So the name Cleopatra stuck, & was shortened to Cleo later. I like both names now that the car(Avalon)has come out.Which do you like?? | | heyzeus1 | | (reply to Cleo) posted 30-Jul-2001 11:42pm |
i will have julie give you the stats. my favorite color has always been blue, although grey is a great color too. | | justjulie | | (reply to Cleo) posted 31-Jul-2001 8:53am |
I like the name Cleo, but I prefer Avalon...like I said before it reminds me of the times of King Arthur and Merlin...there is something so pure and magical about the name, so if YOU don't mind, I would like to call you Avalon. Sheesh...i can imagine that you cried a lot over the loss of your hair. That is a MAJOR change!.....I had really long hair as well, almost to the middle of my back, anyhow, I had let it dread and had lots of hair wraps and beads and things in it. It looked WAY cool, and it felt really good as well. But while I had them, I was working as a cook in a little cafe, so my hair absorbed all of the grease from the kitchen...so one night, I cut the dreads off and tried to salvage as much as humanly possible. So, my super thick long hair, turned into super thin short hair, it came down to about my chin. THEN, i had decided to play w/ color for a moment, and tinted my hair a black-purple color...I liked it, but heyzeus HATED it!!! The question of the day, everyday, was; When are you going to go back blonde??? So...I had taken it upon myself to try to go back blonde...it didn't work, and I ended up w/ multi-colored hair...everything from blue to red to bleach blonde, I was looking VERY patriotic! Anyhow, I wound up cutting ALL of it off because it was WAY too fried from bleaching it in order to get the blue out...it was about 3/4 of an inch long all over my head...this was july 23 of 2000 that I cut it....well, now it's haelthy again, thank God, and it it growing rather nicely, although it is still WAY too short for my taste...I patiently wait for the day I can consider it LONG again!!! BIG HUGS!!!!!!!! And THANK YOU so much again for your thoughtfulness...I know that Noah thanks you as well!!!! | | justjulie | | (reply to Cleo) posted 31-Jul-2001 9:13am |
I just noticed that you would like Noah's stats.... Name: Noah Jeremiah Jamerson Born: July 15, 2001 Time: 6:59 PM central time Length: 20 1/4 inches Weight: 6 Lbs. 12 Ozs. My favorite colors are the colors of the rainbow... BUT, I really like the cool colors; greens, blues, purples...but I really shouldn't say that either...It depends on what I'm looking at. i like the warm tones, but then i like the earth tones as well, browns with a little green and blue...RAINBOW!!!! YES!!! The wheels DO turn! I love it, and I know that Noah will too! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!BIG HUGS and KISSES!!!! | | Cleo | | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 31-Jul-2001 1:57pm |
Okay thanks!!I needed that. Your the first person, that I've ever know, who likes the color grey.Very interesting!!Hummm, closest I can come to making that color stand out,is perhaps a silvery/grey.Having ones favorite colors, somehow ensures that they will like their styro foam names better, too. Well,I haven't had a challenge like this in 4/5 years,so I needed that ....it keeps me on my toes. My goal for 2001 now,is to try & make a styro foam names, for everyone here at SC,that I CHAT with on a regular friendly basis. & if anyone else here, would like one for themselves, all they would have to do is ask me.Then give me their snail mail address & color(s). I'm working on 6 SC names at present,so Love Light & you should receive your's by next week at the earliest.....Only because it takes a couple of days for the names to dry completely. If I speed up the process it'll stick to each other when I mail them.Don't want that!! At the moment,I'm in the process of gathering up everyones colors & snail mail address.I had better get my @## in gear!! Aloha! Cleo | | Cleo | | (reply to justjulie) posted 31-Jul-2001 3:08pm |
Patriotic hair, wow!!That must have been something to see. Your braver than I am,that's for sure!! I've only dyed my hair twice & that was when I was 16(1968) Then again,on my wedding day(eve) when David & I got married(1980).Haven't dyed my hair ever since. But yeah,I'm so glad that you liked the gift! I thought you would...Geeze,I guess you do love Rainbow colors,as you were having a hard time narrowing down a specific color.I kinda understand tho,as I too, love all colors also. However,I'm partial to pink, black,& greens.Okay, let me ask you this,if you could paint your bedroom any color you want, what two colors would they be?? Thank you for Noahs stats.I will be sending you something that, can not be found anywhere else.I think you'll like this even more than the Volkswagon that was sent.Bare with me as this one takes a bit longer to make.Aloha!!!Avalon Have you guys been keeping up with the news lately, about the "red worm" that supposably eats up web sites?? If you don't see me here for a while that means that I got the worm. | | justjulie | | (reply to Cleo) posted 1-Aug-2001 8:41am |
OH NO!!!!! I hope that you don't get the worm...I hope that we don't either!
I'm glad that you haven't dyed your hair. I'm not going to anymore either...I had just wanted to do something a little different. The patriotic hair was a mess!!! I'm SOOOO thankful it's gone!
Hmmmm...what colors to paint? i guess that they would be shades of blue. I'm still stuck there in the blue, for the last time I DID paint a couple of rooms, I never got to finish, and never got the opportunity to dwell in the rooms. I was painting 2 rooms in this really old house on the 3rd floor. ONe room was to be a sitting room, and the other was my bed room. Since it was old, a lot of work needed to be done to it...stripping the old, sanding...there were other rooms up there as well, but not nearly as good condition as the 2 that were mine. Anyhow, the sitting room I was painting white w/ black trim, and the floor would be painted gray, also the stairwell leading up there would be painted the same. The bedroom though, I painted as a sky. i picked out this really dark bright blue which I painted everywhere, even the ceiling. Then, along the baseboards, I painted black mountains. Then I painted big white puffy swirly clouds throughout the whole room, painted gold and yellow highlights on them. Then one day, I painted little stars everywhere...it was SO much fun and very enriching for me. I was really picky about doing it all by hand, and I didn't want ant help w/it. I used only brushes, NO rollers to do it. But, I had a fallout w/ the people I was "living" with, so I had left abrubtly and never finished it... I would LOVE to do something like that again, but this time, maybe paint some trees along w/it of something...and DEFINATELY use rollers this time, and would allow help w/ the beginning parts of the project!!!
Again, THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH, Avalon! I cry every time I go into our bedroom and see the little VW...I need to take some more kava kava, to get me over this weepiness! LOVE YOU & THANK YOU!!!! | | Cleo | | (reply to justjulie) posted 2-Aug-2001 1:45am |
Ohhhhhhh, girlfriend,I think your hormones are running amuck. They say it's natural, for a new mother,to go through the weepy thingy, don't worry,it'll all soon pass. Before you know it you'll be back to normal. My gosh, you sound highly creative! I have never even entertained the thought,of painting a mural type of room, for fear that I wouldn't do it just exactly right. But,you go girl!!!! I just finished a total of 6 names(SueBee,Twisty & Joalis )today.Your's will be in the next batch of names, with Juliw & Miaow's.I'll have to send those out, next week Monday as I have many errands to run tomorrow & Friday. I plan to start working on them tonight.I forgot to ask,do you want your SC user names or your given?? Oh BTW,I had wished heyzus a belated birthday,in a e-mail I guess my MSN messed up again.Dang it!!!I hate when that happens! Aloha,Avalon.... | | justjulie | | (reply to Cleo) posted 2-Aug-2001 8:50am |
lol Whatever "normal" is!!! Yeah, I was pretty picky about the mural, that is why I wouldn't let anyone help...because if THEY "screwed up", that would leave more work for me to fix their mistake. Although I'm pretty hard on myself when it comes to such creative ventures...I seek perfection EVERY time, and I often get frustrated when it's NOT so perfect...sigh. Sheesh...you've just been a busy little bee, huh?!?!?! I think that it's really neat that you found a creative use for all of the stryofoam you've collected!!! I think that we would both like our SC names...that way, we would have a physical reminder to share w/ Noah and what-not. This is such a great time in my life, that i think that I want to be reminded of it when i'm old and gray and in a home...but I don't think that I could EVER forget! Thanks for the belated b-day wish for heyzeus, I know that he says thanks as well! So, no worm yet, huh? NO worm here either...but the day is young. You know, I just Love you to pieces! I wish that we lived closer so that we could do lunch or something like that. Maybe someday I'll get to California, 'cause my ONE goal before I leave this world, is to hug a redwood...I WILL do this someday!!! Have a beautiful day my sweet Avalon!!! | | Cleo | | (reply to justjulie) posted 2-Aug-2001 2:15pm |
Thank you my dear,I WILL have a beautiful day,as you are the very first person I've talked to this morning.Haven't even had breakfast yet.Oops, spoke too soon,David just made me breakfast. What a babe!! God I love the guy!He so,spoils me.... Babe, maybe you should put Noah in a stroller,& take a long walk around the neighborhood. You really should get out & get some fresh air.Getting out of the house usually puts things into perspective.Go to the park, have a little mini picnic. Staying in the house sometimes, can make one feel,as though the walls are closing in on you. Go out!! You'll feel a whole lot better. Yep,no bug YET! They say it's got a life span of 20 days,so whenever my download is reeeeeeeally slow,I get a little sceptical, that it might be the "Web Eating Worm".But,then my fears & paranoia are put to rest, when I'm still able to tap SC.(sigh) But yeah,if you, heyzeus,& baby Noah are ever in California,by all means, please let me know I'd love to meet with you all. Huh,huh,huh.... yes I've been quite busy, with the names & all. The only problem is,being a perfectionist also. As I usually tend to spend hours on a particular piece. David walked in the extra room & said,"Are you making names again?" I'm all, "Yeah!" he's all,"Who's it for this time?"..(all meek like, looking sheepish) "My SC Buddys." He starts laughing, saying, "You go girl, whatever make you happy."........Yep!! But,I better get my butt in gear, sweetie as I have names to finish painting & others to get out,in the mail today. Be checking your mail next week. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Have an up beat, stress free, wonderful day!! You deserve it Love Light! Aloha Kisses, your way, your friend,Avalon | | justjulie | | (reply to Cleo) posted 3-Aug-2001 8:34am |
WOW....you ARE married to a sweetie! Heyzeus was wonderful the first week and a half after Noah was born, with stuff like bringing ME a cup a coffee in the morning, and cooking dinner. Well, he doesn't do the coffee thing for me anymore, and he'll do the dinner thing if I start it, but unable to finish it...usually around that time, Noah is pretty restless and isn't really happy unless he's got mama and a nipple in his mouth. But I am thankful that he doesn't grumble too much when I ask him to finish cooking! Funny thing....I DID take Noah out in the stroller yesterday, first time I used the stroller. But it wasn't really a pleasure trip. I had to go to the local church and get a food box. I had tried to work it so that my angel would be asleep for the journey, and he DID sleep throughout the whole thing! AMEN Usually when we go out, I just carry him in my arms, for he is too little to go in the front carrier thingy I have for him, and I've been pretty nervous about the stroller thing, for it's 2 flights of stairs to get to the street...old creaky crooked stairs. But yesterday, the good energy was in my favor, and everything worked out just fine. You better believe that we'd let you know if and when we get to California. Where in CA do you live? I have a friend who live in Northern CA, a town near Arcadia. We also know people who live in Oja. WHEN we do get there i know that we'll be there for a good week or so, so we would be able to see all the folks that we would like to see. i agree w/ your hubby...Whatever makes you happy, my love! I really like that philosophy. Do what moves you. Funny that you're a perfectionist as well. I'ts a good quality to have, but as we both know, it can be a big pain in the butt as well! Thank you again for thinking of us, it's really refreshing to know that we have thoughts form all over the country! Thank you my lovely Avalon...I shall have a good day, YOU have a beautiful day as well!!! BIG HUGS and KISSES......Love & Light from Wisconsin | | Cleo | | (reply to justjulie) posted 3-Aug-2001 2:26pm |
I'm so happy to hear, that you finally got out of the house, with Noah. The fresh air alone, should've done you both,a world of good. Two flights of stairs? Before you know it,you'll be looking, all slim & trim, from all the exercise,of stair climbing. Are you still taking your prenatal vitamins?? As this is very essential,to your health.Don't stop taking it,just because you've already had the baby.Your doctor will tell you, that you should take it,util it's all gone. Yeah, I'm a perfectionist.I hate being that way!! Sometimes it take me forever,to complete a project. Then,I really get really angry with myself.Yep,your so right, that being a perfectionist IS,a pain in the butt!! Speaking of which,I mailed those names to SueBee & Twisty yesterday, unfortunately I just this minute, discovered that I spelt Twistys name wrong. So now I'm making her another one. Well, that won't take too long. I've started your name already, however I won't be sculpting it till tomorrow. Well Babe, you have a great day & an excellent weekend!! Lot's of Aloha Kisses!!! Your friend Avalon .... BTW I live in Murrieta, that's in Riverside county, about 8 miles from the San Diego county line. Kiss Noah for me! | | justjulie | | (reply to Cleo) posted 4-Aug-2001 2:03pm |
Yeah the fresh air was a good thing. We are all going out tonight to a park to see our friend's little brother play in his band.
yes I'm still taking my prenatals, and probablt will for a while to come...
Oops!!! Funny thing, I always want to call Twisty, twistermiNe...I'm sure that she'll love it though.
Ok...so close to San Diego...got it.
I shall definately give my little Noah a kiss for you...just did!
You have a lovely weekend as well my love!!!! BIG HUGS!!!!! | | Cleo | | (reply to justjulie) posted 4-Aug-2001 3:59pm |
Oh right on!! What's the name of the band & how long have they been playing together? Having a great weekend already, thank babe! Hugs & Kisses right back at ya!! | | heyzeus1 | | (reply to Cleo) posted 5-Aug-2001 1:17am |
yeah, grey was once my favorite color. we thought, since you were talking about liking that greatful dead (dear prudence), and since we've started a mail repoir (sp?), that i should just put it on cd for you and mail it. any other music you like? i think i've got about 700 music files now, everything from cat stephens to slayer. | | Cleo | | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 5-Aug-2001 1:58am |
Gezee dude, you the man!! You know what I think would be kinda cool? Is to have both versions back to back,of "Dear Prudence"You know, one by the Beatles & the other by GD. Thank you!! I had totally forgot all about that.My gosh, that must have been months ago.Or at least it feels like it. Have you ever heard of the song" Wild Flower" by Skylark?? If you can track that song down,I surely would appreciate it.Other than that,I just can't think of any thing else, off hand. Can I sleep on that for a few days? Hey,you guys must have ESP,I just now finished yours & Love Lights names. All that's left to do,is paint them & that's easy! Found some(6) boxes for everyone's names.(heavy sigh) I fell better now. Come Monday,I'm off to the local post office. Everybody should have their names no later than Friday. | | heyzeus1 | | (reply to Cleo) posted 5-Aug-2001 2:45am |
sure, sleep on it. since napster went away, i don't get much new stuff, i don't have dear prudence (beatles) but i did get some rare beatles stuff i had never heard before. norwegian wood (acoustic slow citar version), some rock song by john called kansas city, rocky racoon, benefit of mr. kite, stuff like that. plus some super rare pink floyd tracks that supposedly never came out on album. i dunno, let me know your 'style' of music and i'll go from there. oh, never heard of skylark, sorry. ever heard aphrodite's child? anyway while i was collecting, i got celtic/wiccan music, down south straight up hillbilly banjo music, you name it. | | justjulie | | (reply to Cleo) posted 5-Aug-2001 8:48am |
They've only been playing together for four weeks, and they only know four songs. They're called Two Feet Under. It was a pretty good show. There was a bunch of local, from that town, bands...mostly all teenagers. it was still pretty cool though. It brought back memories of being a teenager myself, so where as one may have been annoyed w/ the whole thing, I was able to smile about it all. Yeah, we are going to make you a cd. We shall put Dear Prudence on it...what other type of stuff do you listen to? I think that I have a pretty good idea as to what I should put on it, but a little input from your end would be great! Anyhow, glad you are having a good weekend, I am too actually...although I would be better if my best girlfriend out here would have her baby today,(funny thing as well...her husband is my husbands best friend. They've been close for years! And this girl and I are like sisters...the whole thing is weird...maybe someday I'll tell you the WHOLE story of us all, for it's a funny one). Big HUGS and KISSES!!!!! | | Cleo | | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 5-Aug-2001 7:05pm |
Wow,Norwegian Wood I the bomb song!! All Beatle stuff is the bomb!! I can never get enough Beatles I love all their music except for that "Number 9" song.Never did like that one,it makes still me nervous when I hear it.Ugh!!Other than that, all their music rocks! Never heard of Aphrodites Child.Hummm perhaps,my kids listen to them.
However,my choice of music is all the CLASSIC ROCK. like: Beatles(of course) Hendrix Zeppelin Alice Cooper Tom Petty Santana Stones Doors Greatful Dead Clapton Eagles Crosby,Stills,Nash & Young Cream Janis Joplin Grand Funk Railroad You name it,all the stuff out of the mid 60's early 70's! Wow the stuff you mentioned at the end of your reply is some VERY interesting stuff.Surprise me...Aloha,Cleo.... | | Cleo | | (reply to justjulie) posted 5-Aug-2001 7:21pm |
How cool!! I like their name, very unique.I bet you guys had a great time.Good! How did Noah like the concert? Yeah,I so know what you mean about, bringing back memories,of being a teenager.I like all types of music, except for rap that has a lot of swearing. BTW what do you mean it brings back memories of you being a teenager. You are practically a teenager. When you hit your 40's then you do some heavy reminicsing.I'm lucky I can remember that far back. For you,it was just yesterday. I gave heyzeus1 the 411 on what types of music I like. You Guys!!Thank you!! (((HUGS))) & Kisses.... Aloha,Avalon | | justjulie | | (reply to Cleo) posted 6-Aug-2001 8:05am |
Noah did really well at the concert. He had slept straight through the really loud music, but was very much awake and alert through the nicer stuff. He loved it and he loved being outside even though it was pretty darn hot that day. He really liked looking at all of the people , and the trees and the clouds in the sky. BTW...he rolled over TWICE yesterday!!!! He hasn't done it since, so maybe it was just a fluke, but he really did it! (sniff, sniff) My baby's growing up! That's cool. I like all types of music as well, except for that rap stuff. And I really don't care for the new mainstream music either. I just think that the music of today lacks a lot of soul. lol I mean, that I grew up pretty fast. i was done doing the normal teeny bopper things by the time the teeny boppers were just starting to do those things, so that was already 10 years ago! My mid teens were spent w/ a MUCH older crowd, everyone was in their 20's even some were close to 30 already. now, I'm not saying that this group was the most mature bunch of folks...but they were "my people". I don't talk to anyone from that time anymore. Thanks for giving heyzeus the 411 on the music...I hope that we have a cd now so we can do this thing and get it out to you. But if we don't, we won't be able to do it untill the weekend. Anyhow, my bright ray of sunshine...have a lovely day!!!! BIG HUGS & KISSES!!!!! | | Cleo | | (reply to justjulie) posted 6-Aug-2001 8:44pm |
Aloha dear!!!I had a feeling you'd all, have a fabulous time at the concert. It's great, for Noah to have exposure,to the various types of sounds,of the world around him. I know !! It's been very hot & humid here lately.Today alone is 100 degrees & the humidity, well forget it!! So,you used to hang with an older crowd, huh?? So did David. Me?? I always hung with people my own age group, until I started working for PHS.Then,it became a younger crowd, like my older children's(28-30 something) age group. So weird!! I'll explain it to you someday. Not enough time right now. Last night I stayed up late, trying to finish heyzeus name & applied to much paint in one sitting,& now it's to sticky to send. So,I'll have to send it either tomorrow or Wednesday. I had a grip of thing to undertake today, which made it difficult to make it to the post office on time.Well,at least I have them all boxed up,& ready to go.Be talking to you again soon. ((((Hugs)) & Much Aloha! | | justjulie | | (reply to Cleo) posted 7-Aug-2001 10:15am |
yeah, I agree that it is good to expose him to various sounds. We live right down town in Milwaukee, so we have the city sounds of cars honking and car alarms, big trucks, some trains...LOTS of people!!! he's already been exposed to fireworks, and claps of thunder...He's so much like both of us in the thunder dept. I hope that that never changes! Funny, I was going to ask if it has been as hot by you as it has been here...we're pretty miserable. At least 90 degrees w/ a dew point in the upper 70's....UGH!!!NO airconditioning either! You you think that it would be cooler by us, for we are practically right on Lake Michigan, But we only get the relief of the lake if there is an easterly wind, which there hasn't been one lately. It's supposed to cool down on Friday though, although I'm not going to hold my breath! What's PHS??? I graduated from a PHS... I never really got along w/people my own age...I had a couple of friends that were my age, but not many, and the ones that I did have, they were like me...advanced and w/ advanced view points. Oops on the paint thing...I've done things like that as well, trying to get something done, and do too much...so that it ends up taking TWICE as long to finish!!!! ANyhow...LOVE YOU!!!!! Keep cool and don't put yourself into a tizzy trying to get a lot of stuff done...WE aren't going anywhere!!!! BIG HUGS & KISSES!!!! | | Cleo | | (reply to justjulie) posted 7-Aug-2001 10:40am |
Ugh, I know!! The weather for us is supposed to be in the triple digits today. Not EVEN looking forward to that. The house was so miserable hot yesterday, that it only cooled down to the mid 80's. Hump!We get no breeze what so ever, cause we are in a valley.Kinda like Death Valley. Yep,heyzeus name is taking a beating.I think I may have to so his name over again as I did, mandys. No problem,I'm just anxious for you guys to get it right away. The more I rush, the more I mess it up.Ugh!!!! I'm thinking yep, that's my only option now.The color paint that I used, doesn't do well on styro foam.I have had to paint it several times,& in doing so,it has become tacky. Nothing I can do about it now, cept sculpt another name,& use a different type of paint. Well, that's what I'm working on today. His name.....However yours came out pretty cool. ((HUGS)) & Kiss your way!! Have a great day. | | heyzeus1 | | (reply to Cleo) posted 7-Aug-2001 10:28pm |
ok i'll make a good cd and send it your way. i'll put aphrodite's child on it. your kids probably don't know it they only put one album out in '68 i think. | | Cleo | | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 8-Aug-2001 1:55am |
Oh right on!! I'm sure I can get into it as well,if I play it long enough. Thanks again.....(((HUGS ))) I'm finally done with your name & will be mailing the box tomorrow. | | Cleo | | (reply to justjulie) posted 8-Aug-2001 2:02am |
PHS is the name of the company I used to work for. Professional Hospital Supplys That's where all my styro foam was amassed over an 8 year period of time. Not to mention also the bubble wrap & boxes.Could you PLEASE send the box back.I really need it for the other SC user name I have to send. Thanks babe.... I really appreciate it!(((HUGS)))Aloha Avalon | | justjulie | | (reply to Cleo) posted 26-Aug-2001 5:35am |

Ohhhh my gosh! What a pleasant surprise.Well, hello there, young lady,& welcome back! Darn it,I must have just missed you, cause I signed off,at around midnight. Now that your computers back & recovering from that horrible virus,I hope to be seeing you & heyzeus1 around here more often. As for the box, take your time,That comment was made a long time ago when I was wiggin, trying to figure out how to mail other names.I have devised a little technique using thick styro foam as a box.Pretty cool actually. Anyways, your more than welcome for the names.I'm so very pleased, that you liked them & if you really like that, you'll really like what I have boxed up for you.I'm mailing it tomorrow. When I had asked for Noahs stats,I had something else in mind for it.But,after thinking about it for a while,I came up with an idea for something even cuter, than what I had,had in mind for it in the 1st place. It's truly a first, for my creative efforts.A one of a kind, for sure.........You'll see. This I know you'll like. | | heyzeus1 | | (reply to Cleo) posted 1-Sep-2001 1:14am |
