I am definitely a very lucky man. She is my soulmate. The chances of us ever meeting and getting together were so slim I can only guess that it was destiny. We like it when we make people puke. BTW nice aura.

Were the chances slimmer than happening to meet a new friend travelling in Australia, happening to get jobs together, happening to go visit said friend in Canada a couple years later, friend of hers happening to be single (for once in his life!), happening to go out in group of people one night on said holiday, happening to get chatting (even though I thought said single friend was gay - that's another story), then happening to fall in love all in the space of 5 days, so much so that I came back to Canada a year later and here I am still, complete with Canadian in-laws?

If so I am impressed.

That's cool. Just our age difference alone was against us. I met ASB through a friend who is 12 years younger than me. I had to take the right job, get promoted and make friends with a guy that I dealt with through business. He was dating her at the time and I was married (and refused to get divorced). Once all that happened ASB still had to be interested in a man that was 12 years older than her. She could have had any man she wanted. For some reason I was the lucky guy. We started dating and both fell hard and fast. There was no doubt from the first date that we were falling in love. People don't usually understand us but that's ok. We are happy. I like hearing about other couples making people smile or barf. Do you get a lot of looks in public because of your obvious closeness?

I love it when people can't stop looking at ASBT & I. I guess we put off some kinda vibes and people can't help but stare. I love it when you know they are looking at how happy we are. My neice is fasinated by us she loves to see 2 people being affectionate. My neice is 1 1/2 she is so cute.

We have been together for 2 years living together for 1 year 10 months and married for 10 months. We love it Everyone keeps saying you 2 are due to be over this honeymoon newlywed phase soon. lol Our reply is we will be newlyweds forever Thanks for being interested. We have been together for 2 years. Before we were together we were good friends. I was always attracted to her but did not think she would ever date me. Once I was single and there was no attachment between Her and our friend things just started to happen. She did pursue me a little. I really am the luckiest man in the world. People tell us give it a year. Then they say give it 2 years. We are still the same way and nobody can figure it out.

That is a cool story! Giving up on a marriage would be horribly hard; but now you're with the person you were really meant to be with.

We two don't get looks in public, we're not too gross really! Both of us are quite independent too. But when we're around friends who are close to us, we often get comments about how cute we are. I've been told of other people telling my close friends how envious they were of our relationship[ and how happy we seem just to be in each others company. We've actually been married 2 years (that's ANOTHER fun story) and people are amazed how we still have so much fun together and when we're out we can talk as if we've hardly seen each other in ages.

Plus, not many people have quite as fudgeed up sense of humour as us - we are definitely soulmates!! Two outcasts

I think it's really healthy for a small child to be surrounded by people who love each other. My parents didn't and I really suffered as a result; I can remember distinctly being two or three years old and being terrified to sleep in case one or both of them was gone when I woke up. Kids pick up on everything.

Then of course I had crapty relationships when I grew up - until I met the Stink (pet name!) and he is incredibly grounded and sooooo good for me it's not true. There's a story about a dream I had after I met him but I'll have to save it because he's yelling at me to come to bed!!!! ()

My "Happy Hat." In front to my left is a BRIGHT yellow felt hat (shaped kind of like a top hat) with a big smiley face on it. When I put on my "Happy Hat," you KNOW there's serious trouble. Last time I had it on I was on the phone to HP tech support for two hours. Sometimes I wear it when I have a stressful deadline pressing on me. It makes me laugh when I'm unhappy.

Giving up on the marriage was very hard. It was against my beliefs. My ex made things very hard for me and our kids. Once I made the tough decision though I stuck with it. Every day got a little better. ASB was there as a friend (along with a few others) every step of the way. She never took advantage of the situation. She was honestly concerned about a friend who was going through a hard time. It was like she knew what I was feeling and could always make me feel better even if she said nothing. Being ASB's husband is really a dream come true. She is also very good with my kids. Btw our sense of humor is unusual also.

Thank you. As you know there is nothing like being so much in love. I'm happy for you and your hubby. I wish everyone could experience the type of relationship we are talking about. There are a lot of married couples in love. A lot of them tend to lose something along the way. Others just keep getting better.

Right on! I wish the same thing as well. I keep telling one of my girlfriends that a "soul mate" is someone who compliments you, but who also challenges you. I think that is the majority of failed relationships problems. "They" think that it should be easy all of the time, but it's not like that. Yes, the good should outweigh the "bad", but you need the "bad" in order to have that balance and harmony. That's what keeps it fresh and real and MAGICAL!

My mum had the same kind of thing - divorce was just unacceptable where she came from. She put up with a lot of crap for many years - eventually it was just the only thing to do. I think it taught me to really look out for myself though; if anything I'm a little too intolerant. But the Stink is a pretty good husband so life is a lot easier now. His parents are in their 60s and they are the puke-est couple ever! So lucky. I hope we are like that.

Same with me. I really felt like there was no other choice. After many years of trying I had to give up. I'm glad I did now. I just hope my kids get something positive out of it as you did. Their mother is still crazy. Her life is like a daily soap opera. ASB and I try to set a good example and hope they see that life does not have to be constantly traumatic. At a party a while ago he cleared a whole floor of a house for god's sake! (Everyone knew it was him because I yelled, "Steven, that's smells like your ass !!" across the room rather loudly.... bad wife.....) But no other wife would be as patient. One time it even woke me up from my sleep in the middle of the night!

Yes I do. I have asked her that. She could have had anybody she wanted and for some reason she picked me. She always tells me she picked me because I am the best. I guess too much is made out of age differences and ready made families. I really believed after I got divorced that nobody would be interested in me because of my kids and my crazy ex. Not only did that not scare her off but she has done very well in dealing with it. She is a one of a kind and I'm am very lucky to be with her. I asked my mother about it also. She said what woman wouldn't want you. You are a very nice person and good looking. She said the only problem I would have was finding someone who could deal with my crazy ex. I'm sure her opinion of my looks is biased but ASB agrees with her. It seems like the best things in my life tend to find me. If I went looking for someone I don't think I would have found what I was looking for. I still wonder how I got such a wonderful woman at times but I'm way too busy being happy to figure it out.

Awwwwww! I have pms and now I feel all weepy and emotional.... I actually consider myself to have been a MAJOR pain in the ass when S & I were first together. He is very patient. Now I am not at all psycho any more. He is a star. Nobody else could fill his shoes.

It sure sounds like it. She used to date someone who is still our friend. He tried to warn me about ASB's bad points. I just don't see any.
