I'm not sure that I could even pick a half a dozen. Some off the top of my head: use of fire; invention of agriculture; invention of steel; conquest of the Americas; invention of the steam engine; invention of the transistor.

What? We both think the Big Bang was an important event.
I won't even go there...this time.

Lots of things are inventions not really events, (I'm better at inventions) but: the wheel, making fire, language, the written word, vaccinations, the atomic bomb, the internal combustion engine, birth control, the telephone, the flush toilet, tv/radio wave, commercial airline flights, the internet... then I guess the conquering of the americas, the world wars, AIDS.... and creation was pretty important too, however the hell you choose to believe that happened.... oh, and CHEESECAKE. * smile *

You reckon??
Thanx * smile *

To be quite honest, I hardly even remember answering that question! It must've been last night(??). I was on the computer until around 2 this morning, after a long, slightly stressful day!
I went to the dentist yesterday, after not going for around 6 years...
Ouch! I have to go back in a couple of weeks for 3 fillings (my first ones!). Then sometime soon I have to have 2 of my wisdom teeth out - the problem is, one of them is really deep, and I'll have to have a general anesthetic to get it out * frown *

*shuddering* I hate,H*A*T*E* going to the dentist!!!
& I don't envy you....When I was 19 I had to have a wisdom tooth extracted & the dentist working on me didn't give me enough to numb the area.I ended up almost all the way out of the dental chair with tears streaming down my face.Had I thought of it at the time,I probably would have kicked him in the place that counts.I was soooooo pissed I never paid that dentist for his so called services. Jerk!!!

Now whenever I go to the dentist I let the dentist know that if they cause me any pain I WILL bite down on their hand.No JOKE!!

They're usually made with either cream cheese and eggs (and baked) or with a vegetarian form of gelatine such as agar (seaweed).

You get a different texture with baked cheesecakes - less smooth - but I think they're really nice * smile *

Like I said I HATE dentists & I can't think of anything worse than that, other than going to the doctor for a pap smear test.(Yuck)Speaking of which,I haven't had in 16 years.I think I hate that even more than going to the dentist.I find the whole ordeal too humiliating, having someone I have no love for checking me out down there. Now that I think about it maybe the dentist isn't so bad after all............. * surprise * Good luck next week at the dentist.(shuddering)
