Yes, but It wasn't a negative view. I admired his honesty and courage, the devotion of his wife and was pleased he decided to talk openly about AIDS to children(He wrote a cool book)in the hopes of raising their awareness.

To me, he's just another basketball player. Since I don't follow basketball, my view of him didn't change because I had no view to start with.

Yes,it changed my view of Magic, but it was of a more compassionate kind of change for the man.It was like "Oh my gosh,Magic has HIV,who would've thought,a BASKETBALL STAR would get sick with the HIV sickness."The public now knew that anyone, even the most respected of basketball gods can get sick,& that HIV can in fact affect anyone, even those of such high status.

No, I thought he was a great basketball player, and hoped he would be okay.

no problem, i have just heard reports in the last few years that he sometimes tells people or that people representing him have said that he no longer has HIV and i think that that would be a great disservice to the public.

I was impressed with his character that he came out publically.

I never really had an opinion at the time. I was too young and too far away to really give a hoot.

Yes, I thought he was now contaminated with HIV and would never be able to play again, or have unprotected sex.

Yes, because I'd never heard of him until I found out his HIV status. But I don't think that's what you're asking.

Yes. First I viewed him as a famous basketball player. Then I viewed him as a famous basketball player who was HIV positive. I suspect that the reason for my change of view was very likely related to the news reports where he announced that he was HIV positive.

I heard he had overcome the virus. Has anyone else hurt that?

Yeah, what's up with that? I could swear that I read or heard somewhere that there's no trace of the virus anymore.

Depends on what way he got aids.. if betraying SO or girlfriend then that would lessen his value in my eyes to nearly none.

Sadly, but yes, when I saw him I did think about that.
