The ranges are rather large...I'm at about 185-190 (I think...it been a while since I weighed myself)
**dpolicar: Could you unsort this? When there a natural numeric progression in the options, my neurons parse unsorted surveys better.

What an odd breakdown. I'm not quite sure - I'm guessing somewhere between 130 and 135, but that spans two categories.
dpolicar: What about breaking them at multiples of 5, at least? I can estimate my weight to about 5 pounds, but I don't know whether I'm, say, 132 or 134.

lizzie: sorry you were depressed by my survey...
gilly:Suggestions for alternative breakdowns (send to dpolicar@kenan.com if you prefer)? I picked the ranges based on likely min and max values and the number of answers I wanted to list. ***so, round to the nearest 5 and pick the appropriate category -- but I'll keep this in mind for future surveys, anyway.

178, I've actually gained a few pounds since I started working out a lot. * frown * I think I may eat more when I exercise more. I got down to 155 a couple years ago. I did it via eating less (I wasn't exercising at all in the period). I now believe that it wasn't a very healthy thing to do to myself. I suspect that 165 would be a good weight for me. I'm trying not to care about it though.

I have weighed between 133 and 140 for at least the past 10 years, except for a little while at about 145 when I was working out a lot.

Should we survey BMI instead?

130-135, actually, as I've gained some in my dotage.

*** BlueBird - Are you my sister?

Hey, wait a minute! Two people have said in their comments that they weigh less than 100 lbs, but the answers show only 1 person has checked < 100!

though it may be slightly more. **huh.. 47 voters so far and I am the heavyweight of SC.. wha...... hoo...... Lizzie: hate to say it, but I may be catching up to him... then again, I have no idea what he weighed..(I may be underestimating and may be >350)
*lisashea: maybe.. the difference is whether you are comfortable. I have stated before... I'd like to get back to a svelte 290..... I also don't think I look like I weight close to 350, I think I look like I weigh about 300....but I'll need opinions on this from those who know me.

don't know. i haven't weighed myself in at least five years.
***lisashea: if it's not important, what's the point of knowing the number?

blah *** lisashea - why? would you mind answering if, instead of 130, it was 330 and instead of 115 it was 215? weight is not like haircolor to me ... people don't assume as much about me based on my haircolor ... as i stated in the BMI survey, when I entered my numbers the resulting comment from the BMI calculator was 'unlikely' ... whether that's unlikely HIGH or unlikely LOW ... doesn't matter, it's outside of my comfort zone, as is this question. i'm not upset, just answering your question on 'why' someone wouldn't answer ... it's part of my genetics and lifestyle i don't choose to share (although i am interested in how others respond, not like the sexual practices surveys, which i hide). Yes, you're right, it's pretty obvious when people see me how much i weigh ... but you CAN'T see me, can you? bill is good, but i don't think he could install C-Me C-U without my knowing!

This very moment? 122 lbs. It's not very muscular though, which I'm trying to work on ... as I've mentioned before, I'm going for the Linda Hamilton look ;)

***Bill: I expect to gain weight when I gain muscle! Isn't this a good thing? I don't think aiming for the "lowest possible weight you can survive at" is good - I'm aiming for a body shape, not a certain weight ...

To the people who wouldn't answer - why? I figure weight is like hair color and other things - generally set by genetics and by lifestyle. When I was 130 I didn't mind answering, nor when I was 115. It all was just part of me. It's not like it's a secret - it's fairly obvious to anyone who sees you how much you weigh. Just like having acne or freckles or something ... resist society's messages about weight having importance!! :)

Lara: EXACTLY!! I know it because I go to the doctor's every 6 months and he tells me :) Also, I want to make sure I don't yo-yo with my workouts and eating habits. If I see a quick 5-lb change (that maybe I wouldn't have noticed otherwise), that's something for me to address.

Resy: I guess I figure it's like I have awful acne. Sure, I'm not "proud" of this. I try to wash and such, tho, and it doesn't help. It's not like it's not obvious. If someone were to ask, "Do you have acne" I'd essentially say, "well, duh, yes". If I were to gain weight and someone asked, "Do you weigh over 200 pounds", I'd say, "Well, yes, I way 220 or so". My boyfriend's rather heavy and he admits his weight. But it doesn't matter! I wish people *didn't* judge people based on weight. But it's strange to me that they'd change an opinion based on a number rather than the "way someone looks" if they're even going to be that shallow :)
