I enjoy the holiday season as a time to give, not just gifts, but more. I think it's become too materialistic and Christmas has lost a lot of it's original intent. I actually enjoy watching christmas lights as well. I find them stimulating :)

I just get really stressed out I guess, it's really bad this year. Giving gifts is stressful (Will they like it? did I buy it yet? should I buy it? how much should I spend?). Receiving gifts is bad too, I think greedily, I get envious of what others are getting... and then I over-eat. I'm trying to simply stay focused on seeing friends and family, people that I love and spending good times with them.

I'm thinking, "I wish they'd stop playing all that stupid Christmas music."

It doesn't matter if you're christian, or jewish, or athiest, or hindu. Christmas is about one thing. Presents.

I think most about my family and friends (all of my loved ones). I also spend a lot of time thinking about what I would like to give people for christmas and how I am going to afford it all. Oh yeah, and I aslo spend time thinking about how to celebrate my cousin's and I's birthdays since they are both 3 days before christmas. Busy time of year for me.

I love giving my friends gifts and doing things for other people, but the thing I think about a lot is Jesus> Christ-mas

I love to give gifts, and see the smiles on people's faces as they open up their gifts. It is all about bringing joy to others.

I am a scrooge, none of the above apply. I just try to get through it without looking like a scrooge. You know, the appropriate gifts, the thoughtful handmade card, etc. But I am always so relieved on Christmas night, that I won't have to do it all over again for another year. Please don't hold this against me.

My family, worse luck. And hey, Atzilut, I'm an atheist myself, and I really loathe religion as a cultural phenomenon, but you can still celebrate secular Christmas: exchange of gifts with loved ones (always a good idea), time off from work (always a great idea), and strangers being nice to each other, even in the city.

As usually, but well, sometimes I think : "Why christmas starts earlier each year?"

Yes, bubbles, I love you!!! I'd give you a kiss if I knew you! Anyway, give, give, give, spend, spend, spend, and bourbon-rich sweet potato pies and hugs and kisses enough to go around twice! Oooh, I love winter break!

I find the task of finding the right thing for people a trying and difficult one. I don't like the obligation of giving gifts to people who I don't know very well, and I like giving off the cuff or inapropriate gifts even less.

I watch all year for just the right things to give. I bake cookes for the office (my record was 150 dozen one year)! Don't expect to get much in the way of material goods, just get to spend time with LOTS of my friends!

Generally during holidays, I get to see family and to me that is a gift on both sides... I definitely care much more about giving than receiving, in general as well.

Why am I continually forced to buy things for people that they really don't want to own, otherwise they would have bought one for themselves long ago.

**jjg: I dunno, I think Carol liked her gift, but I don't think she would have bought one on her own.

I picked the same as always. What I think about most is that I can't wait for it to be over because it is over commercialized and people seem to feel the need to 'be in the spirit' which is completely fake and I hate fake.

Giving - I love buying presents for people. It's the only kind of shopping that I really enjoy.
