| Biggles | (reply to callen610) posted 11-Jun-2001 7:40am It's about a tailor who has flies in his shop so he kills them all with one flick of a piece of cloth. He starts going on and bragging about how he killed 7 in one blow but he gets overheard. The person who overhears him goes to the king of a neighbouring country who has a problem with 7 giants and tells him he knows of someone who can solve his problem. The tailor is sent for and ordered to kill the giants (in which case he can, of course, marry the beautiful princess). Of course, he manages to do it, marries the princess and they all live happily ever after (except for the giants....and the flies!) The moral of the story is (there's always a moral) not to shoot your mouth off bragging unless you've actually done something impressive! So nothing like what *you* were thinking! (I may have got quite a lot of that story wrong BTW, I haven't heard it in years!) |
