| Maarten | posted 2-Jun-2001 5:56am Types I and IV. |
| kaleb777 | posted 2-Jun-2001 6:00am type II - not real good for Australia. |
| juliw | posted 2-Jun-2001 9:33am Type II |
| Iseult | posted 2-Jun-2001 10:15am Type I: White: always burns, and rarely tans (and when it does, it turns yellow). |
| SueBee | posted 2-Jun-2001 11:40am I almost picked Type I but then I realize that I do get a little bit of a tan on my arms and my face. It's just that my tanned skin is usually still much lighter than most people even if they don't have a tan! It's very frustrating, too. I have to wear tons of sun screen and I still have to be careful about being out in the sun too long. |
| SueBee | (reply to Zang) posted 2-Jun-2001 11:42am LOL That's what I've always said about myself! Are you telling me you'd give me a run for my money? |
| SueBee | (reply to Maarten) posted 2-Jun-2001 11:45am Do you mean that different parts of your body react differently to the sun? I think that's probably true for most people. The parts that get less exposure are probably more sensitive. That's why I was torn between two types also. |
| Cleo | posted 2-Jun-2001 12:13pm I'm a type IV.Actually I really dont need a tan cause mu skin color is a year round tan. |
| callen610 | posted 2-Jun-2001 12:18pm Type II. I am fairly pale and don't tan all that much when I spend time outside. |
| LindaH | posted 2-Jun-2001 12:27pm Probably type II but I don't burn easily, I just don't tan very fast. |
| Maarten | (reply to SueBee) posted 2-Jun-2001 12:36pm I have vitiligo. Part of my hair is white: ![]() |
| mandy | posted 2-Jun-2001 1:43pm I am light skinned but I tan easily |
| Zang | (reply to SueBee) posted 2-Jun-2001 4:09pm I almost glow in the dark. |
| Lahdee | posted 2-Jun-2001 9:04pm Same thing Joalis said. Imagine that. |
| confetti | posted 2-Jun-2001 9:14pm Type II. I was out in the sun today with one of those awful SPF 8 "Tanning Oils" on, which, um, basically just cook your skin. I got a wonderful shade of magenta. I got distracted because I was playing with my Game Boy, so I was out there for an hour. But at least I won't be laughed at so much in P.E. What I wouldn't give to be one of those people with lovely, golden skin! |
| Oscar | posted 2-Jun-2001 9:38pm Type II Before my hair took on a redish tink I was Type V. Kinda sucks now. I really miss my tan. Now I feel like an albino. |
| darkshadowsseeker | posted 2-Jun-2001 10:04pm Type I-I never tan, but burn very easily. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Maarten) posted 2-Jun-2001 10:09pm Very handsome! Don't feel bad. Red hair runs in my family, which of course means very fair skin. As I'm getting older, my hair is turning white (which is common with redheads) instead of gray. I have way more white hair than you do. |
| heyzeus1 | posted 2-Jun-2001 11:18pm i don't know which of those to pick. i have white skin that never, ever sunburns |
| SueBee | (reply to Maarten) posted 2-Jun-2001 11:34pm Well, then your answer makes even more sense than I thought. I don't know anything about vitiligo. Has your hair always had the white patch, or did it happen gradually? That link isn't working, and I couldn't get to your homepage either. Is it down? |
| bcollins | posted 3-Jun-2001 1:55am Type II |
| Maarten | (reply to SueBee) posted 3-Jun-2001 4:59am Vitiligo means that certain parts of my skin doesn't have pigment, so it's white. Hair growing out those areas is also white. Luckily I only have it on my legs and the spot on my forehead. I have nieces who also have it on their arms and hands. What link do you mean? I only posted the picture, there's no link included. |
| SueBee | (reply to Maarten) posted 3-Jun-2001 12:38pm Well, I guess I meant the link to that picture, I just didn't word it very well. |
| Maarten | (reply to SueBee) posted 3-Jun-2001 2:20pm So you didn't see the picture? |
| davethebrave371 | posted 3-Jun-2001 2:38pm It burns rarely, tans gradually, but I'm the whitest middle-class teenage computer geek you'll ever chance to meet. Stupid sunlight and it's always being bright and hurting of the eyes...sorry, recluse geek taking over for a sec. But seriously, when I DO go out, in the summer and such, I don't burn almost at all, and I usually neglect to put on sunscreen. For the last six or seven summers that I remember, I haven't burned ONCE. When I was a kid, a few times. But I can't even remember those very well. And I tan fine. I don't tan very often mind you, but that's because it usually leaves a weird looking tan line where my collar is. But yeah...I'm white, but I almost never burn. So, to repeat, burns rarely, tans gradually. |
| SueBee | (reply to Maarten) posted 3-Jun-2001 2:40pm Nope, but I've seen your picture before, Fox! |
| Maarten | (reply to SueBee) posted 3-Jun-2001 2:45pm LOL But can you see the pic now? |

| jettles | posted 4-Jun-2001 9:41am i would think it is a type II, always burns tans minimally. |
| Enheduanna | posted 4-Jun-2001 10:20am Type II-III. I'm definitely white, but I don't usually burn that severely, and I tan gradually. |
| spidertea | posted 4-Jun-2001 2:12pm Definately type II! |
| smurf | posted 5-Jun-2001 2:20am Type I: White -- Always burns easy, but never, ever tans. But I am me, so I am special White as a sick ghost, but a special white ghost |

| Brian | posted 7-Jun-2001 4:36pm I don't see "blotchy" anywhere in here? Nor "pasty"? Who sponsored this survey anyway? Mary Kay? |
| Gamera | posted 10-Jun-2001 10:27pm None of these seem to describe mine. It's fairly light, burns quickly, then turns to tan and tans easily. I guess, maybe, that's Type III. |
| Maggie | posted 15-Jun-2001 2:14am Type I |
| Biggles | (reply to Brian) posted 18-Jun-2001 12:10pm lol - that would be my skin type too! Blotchy, pasty and freckly - that's me |
| Brian | (reply to Biggles) posted 18-Jun-2001 12:28pm "Freckly"? |
| Brian | (reply to Biggles) posted 18-Jun-2001 12:29pm perk! |
| Biggles | (reply to Brian) posted 18-Jun-2001 12:40pm Freckly - as in freckled with many freckles! |
| jkiehart | posted 6-Jul-2001 11:01am Type I. I'm so white that I'm nearly translucent. Very very pale. I'm Finnish, what are you gonna do? |
