| mandy | posted 23-May-2001 4:54pm I believe it was in October. I was invited to a cast party for a play. She was there with her husband and I was introduced to them both. I had just had a baby two months before and it was actually the first time I'd been out socially since her birth. I even remember what I was wearing. I was a little shocked when she was introduced to me as her ex's wife as he had seemed to be talking and dancing and paying attention to every other woman in the room but her that night...I was confused. Her best friend was a friend of mine already and I remember laughing with them and thinking that my SO to be had a great sense of humor. I was happy to have met her. I joined the theatre group soon after that and we became good friends. Our friendship developed into something beautiful that took us both completely by surprise, we left our marriages behind and have been happily cohabitating for about 8 years. I love her so much. |

| Jemmy | posted 23-May-2001 7:28pm I was walking down the street, and I slipped and he asked if I was okay. Then he asked if I wanted to go for coffee with him, and that was where I was going. We really hit it off, and it turned out that we actually have a lot of mutual friends, but had never met before. |

| mandy | (reply to Maarten) posted 23-May-2001 7:42pm strike that...reverse it! It's simple math. god=love Sue+Mandy=love and if love=god then Sue+Mandy=god see? Now I know you don't believe in god but I know you believe in love *kiss* |

| jkiehart | posted 25-May-2001 1:28pm At work. I was temping for Architectural Digest magazine, and he was working in the art department there. I struck up a conversation with him, and he told me that he was going rock climbing. Thinking to myself, "Hey, this is one of those athletic boys," I totally lied and told him that I loved to run. I said, "Oh, I love to wake up early and just run run run all around the block." He bought it, asked me out. I moved in with him. About a month later he asked me "Um, I thought you said you were a runner." I said, "Oh please! I just said that to get you to ask me out!" Five years later, we're still together, and we still love to tell that story. |

| mary | posted 25-May-2001 5:24pm Oooo I am a taurus, & we met on the one day I have in my lifetime where all the planets were aligned in Taurus... May 3rd. I was three days over 21 & was out at the bars with my friend and neighbor, while we were out I was asked to describe my perfect man and I said..."strong, buff, long blond hair, blue eyes, plays guitar WELL...." When we got back to our apartment building I saw this guy who fit the description I gave earlier just sitting on another neighbors doorstep, stinking of weed, just sitting there with his doggie. I plopped down next to him and just started talking, I wasn't really flirting with him... but I guess he thought I was... For some reason he asked me what my last name was and I told him (it's a very common name) and he looked at me like that is such a common last name and I said "What? At least it's not _____ and then he looked more shocked and I guess _____ was his last name! Then I said "yeah right if _____ is your last name then your middle name is William" And it was!! Anyway I didn't go up to my apt. till about 3:30am or so (alone) he didn't ask for my # before I left either. The next day while I was at work I got this silly call, it was him! Aaaww.... We've been dating for over a year now. The moment I met him I couldn't take him off my mind & I still can't. |
| drdt | posted 25-May-2001 7:14pm So, I'm at a folk dance, where you tend to swap around partners between dances, and you rarely dance with the same person twice in the same night. And I'm just finishing up a dance with this really fantastic dancer (fun to look at, too) that I had never seen before. And this vaguely familiar woman comes up to us and says basically 'Hi, I don't know you guys, but you seem like a nice couple, and you dance really well, so would you like to come to my parents 50th wedding anniversary party? Its going to have dancing and we need people who can help the other guests who mayn't have ever danced before.' So I turned to my partner and said, 'I guess I'd better get your name then.' |

| TylersMamma | posted 29-May-2001 9:41pm I don't exactly have an SO right now but my ex and I are trying to work things out so i'll tell yall how we met... It was the first day of my fresman year of high school and I saw this really cute guy. I told some girls I had met and they decided to introduce us, so when they walked up with him... well, they brought over the wrong guy! I couldnt believe it. My cutie and I wound up talking anyway but it turned out he had a girlfriend and I had started dating the "wrong guy" my friends had introduced me too... so we were friends for two years. His best friend and my best friend were dating and they decided it would be cute to set us up because they both knew we had a major crush on eachother. Well, that night we went for a walk together and confessed our feelings... he kissed me and well... we were together for the next 2 years and after a year of being apart we're trying again. |
