| bill | posted 3-Aug-1998 7:05am I've won on some scratch tickets, does that count? (better wording of answers may have helped this survey; like a list of types of lotteries that one might have won, raffles for example...) |
| Jody | posted 3-Aug-1998 8:39am I've won some things in raffles or contests, but nothing that significant. One odd superstitious thing I tend to believe is that you only get so much "luck", so you should only enter contests/lotteries where you actually WANT the prizes. Otherwise you may use up all your luck winning something you don't even want. |
| romkey | posted 3-Aug-1998 9:02am I don't play the lottery. |
| lisashea | posted 3-Aug-1998 12:09pm Nope. I don't play lotteries :) |
| lelle | posted 3-Aug-1998 12:12pm My savings account in Sweden automatically enters you into a monthly drawing for various prizes; I've won SEK100 a couple of times. (SEK100 ~ USD12) |
| milktree | posted 3-Aug-1998 12:35pm it was actually 3 dollars, but one is close enough. I don't buy lottery tickets, it was one of the freebees that used to come in the mail. |
| jonas | posted 3-Aug-1998 1:02pm My only experience with the lottery was one ticket I got for x-mas. I won $5. Other than that, I considerate it just a tax for people who are bad at math. |
| Timmi | posted 3-Aug-1998 1:16pm But I've never collected. |
| eris | posted 3-Aug-1998 2:24pm You can't win if you don't play, and I don't. |
| lizzie | posted 3-Aug-1998 2:42pm A couple bucks here, a couple bucks there....no more than $20 total, though. I don't buy very many tickets anyways. |
| Resy | posted 3-Aug-1998 3:36pm ..why do you want to know? |
| ron2112 | posted 3-Aug-1998 3:44pm I've won as much as $25. But I haven't played the lottery or gambled in any other way in many years. |
| gilly | posted 3-Aug-1998 4:46pm I only play the free tickets they send you in the mail, and I've never won on one. |
| phi | posted 3-Aug-1998 7:47pm I've won $5 or $10 -- nothing special, but more than a buck. I've won as much as $100 at a time in casinos. |
| LawDog | posted 3-Aug-1998 11:38pm I'm only 17, but in 5 days i am able to play. |
| Lucy | posted 4-Aug-1998 3:53pm I never enter the lottery |
| emily | posted 4-Aug-1998 8:25pm I've won a little here and there....not more than $50 at one time and CERTAINLY not enough to make up for the money I've thrown away on tickets. |
| kadai | posted 5-Aug-1998 7:14pm Never, but if I did, I'd have a blast... |
| dab | posted 5-Aug-1998 8:21pm Of course, since I've never played my chances were pretty small. |
| jjg | posted 5-Aug-1998 10:12pm A dollar here and there. I enjoy the game. I've probably broken even somewhere around a hundred bucks over my lifetime. |
| doom | posted 10-Aug-1998 4:41pm several different times on scratch tickets for $500 each. I don't play them anymore since I don't work in a place that sells them. |
| dpolicar | posted 11-Aug-1998 11:13am Do those supermarket thingies count? I think I won $20 or so on one once. |
| nbarone | posted 31-Aug-1998 7:02am I won $3 playing lotto in CT once. i've won $10 and $20 several times on scratch off tickets. since i never bought the scratch tickets (typically stocking gifts at christmas), i have definitely won more than i have paid out. |
