I want to get married, but not anytime soon. I will get married when I'm older and when I meet the right person (I already have!!!) and when my life is stable. When I am ready for it.

And not if. When.

Getting married is cool only if it's with the right person at the right time under the correct circumstances (which if it's the right person, circumstances should be correct and time should be right).

I want to get married for legal purposes not because I feel that my relationship should be recognised before God or whoever. Married couples get benefits that unmarried ones don't. Simple as that for me!

Have you ever worn clothing that's technically for men? Because that's right up there in Deuteronomy with people of the same sex having sexual intercourse. What about wearing something made of a blended fabric? You're so self-righteous. You need to read John 8:7 again.

Not with the history of divorce in my family. My father was married 4 times & divorced 3 times (the last one died in a drowning accident), my grandmother (paternal) was married twice (first husband was abusive) and my sister is on her second marriage. Not to mention the fact that there is no place I could get legally married in the U.S. as I am gay. All we have is civil union which is not recognized in many states.

Your hatred toward homosexuals appears to be a minority view around here, so I don't know why you keep going on about it. Do you think you're going to change anyone's mind? Why can't you just live and let live? Strangely enough, you're not making me angry today. I'm just finding your narrow-mindedness rather pathetic. I think you were getting picked on, so you wanted to target someone else to vent your frustration. Whatever...
Oscar
(reply to SueBee) posted 13-May-2001 12:53pm
I realize that it's the minority view, and I really don't care. It doesn't change any facts whether or not you guys agree with me. I'm not really out to change anyone's mind either. I just think that you ought to know that your lifestyle is sinful.

If you believe in reading antiquated laws out of context, then I assume that you also always keep your head covered while you pray (1 Corinthians 11:5-6), that you never speak in church (1 Corinthians 14:34-35), and that you don't wear fancy clothes or jewelry and that you are always subservient to men (1 Timothy 2:9-15). Maybe you should focus on Matthew 7:12 and 22:39 a little more.

I am impressed by your knowledge of the Bible. Not too many people are as well aware of the Biblical laws as you are. I do always keep my head covered, I don't speak in church, I attire myself in modest attire, and I am subservient to men.

I doubt I will ever get married. I've got to the point where I think all men are disgusting and the thought of even having a relationship makes me feel sick. Not only have I been hurt over and over again, but my parents are divorced and I know how much devastation a relationship break up causes.

That's obvious. Nonetheless, it's not for you to judge. If you are the Christian that you claim to be, then you must also believe that it is only for God to judge people's actions. All the gay, lesbian, and bisexual people here know that you think what they're doing is sinful. You are no more likely to convince them to stop than I am to convince you that your interpretation of the Bible is outdated and irrelevant. I think the best you can do is show them the love that, as a Christian, you are supposed to show all people. All that your berating them does is make them feel towards you and many Christians the way you feel towards homosexuality.
