I like Water-Park the best.

My favorites are the roller coasters and water rides. They have a ride at Six Flags Ohio where about six people sit in a round raft. You go up a steep hlll, then plunge over a waterfalls and get absolutely drenched! I rode it last summer about two hours before we left the park, and had to sit on a towel all the way home, and was still soaking wet when we got home. It was a really fun ride! The only rides I don't like are rides where you spin around really fast. If I go on the tilt-a-whirl, I always have to throw up afterward.

You're right. You can only like one thing best. I should have asked which amusement parks you liked, and left out the "best". But now that the survey has been qualified, there's not much I can do abouot it. Which rides do you like?

I made a typo. Amusement park RIDES, not amusement parks.

Roller coasters. Especially those old, wooden ones.

I don't think that's true. You can like things equally, and if there are multiple things that you like the same amount and also more than anything else, then you like them all "best."

There are several ammusment parks near me on the Gold Coast. Dreamworld, Movieworld, Seaworld, Wet 'n Wild. I like rollercoasters, by I also like the Tower of Terror and the Giant Drop.

The easiest, most babyish monorail. The kind that feels like you would probably get there faster if you just stood still. What's wrong with being chicken crap?

I get motion sickness badly, so I avoid amusement park rides. There's nothing like being spun around on the Spider and hurling on someone in the next car to convince you to stay off the rides. *evil smile*

I like really good roller coasters and water rides equally.

...and juliw: No way! Those old wooden ones are too scary! Give me the modern steel tracks any day! I like a smooth ride when I'm going fast.

I went on this ride called "The Octupus" once. It was kind of like a tilt-a-whirl, but twenty feet in the air. I told my aunt that I would probably throw up, but she begged me to ride it with her. She had paid for the tickets, so therefore we had to go on everything. Halfway through the ride, she put her hands over her mouth and started making gagging noises. Somehow, we made it throught the ride without actually getting sick, though. Then, on the way down the steps of the ride, Pam leaned over, and threw up over the railing. I ran over to the hot dog cart to get her some paper napkins, and I threw up all over the hot dog stand. It was so embarrassing and so gross. But the hot dog guy was really nice about it. Needless to say, we didn't go on any more rides for a while.

The Octopus and the Spider are basically the same ride, I think the only real difference is that the Spider is usually black. I know what you went through, I threw up homemade chili on my sister who was in the car with me plus the wind blew some into the next car. My sister had been making the car swing extra hard and ignored my frantic warnings. She ended up wearing my lunch! *frown*

The Tower of Terror was THE BEST ride I've ever been on!

(reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 6-May-2001 7:55pm

Oh, I hate it when people swing the car like that. I also hate it when people swing the ferris wheel really hard. But, I don't think your sister will want do that anytime soon. *wink*

She hasn't done it since that day, at least not when I am with her. I seldom go on rides anymore.

One time I went on it, a guy spat out his gum at the top and it floated in front of him before he grabbed it again!

I know there is one in Virginia, and there also might be one in Connecticut that I don't know about. If you are also going to New York that week, you are probably going to a park in Connecticut, because Connecticut is much closer to New York than Virginia is. Where are you from again?
Jemmy
(reply to juliw) posted 7-May-2001 8:19pm

I'm from Halifax, Nova Scotia. We're probably going to the one in Virginia, because we go to Williamsburg.

(reply to Jemmy) posted 8-May-2001 7:30pm

Yep, then Virginia is the one. Have a great time. I went to some campground in Nova Scotia, and we took a little side trip to Halifax, but that was over 30 years ago, so all I remember is the guy playing bagpipes on the sidewalk. I have also been to Prince Edward Island-a gorgeous place!

I went to PEI on a band trip last year. I loved it. Bagpipes? It must have been a holiday or something, because you don't see that every day! Thanks! It's only 16 more days, I can't wait! *raspberry*
