Who do you think will win the British general election? (Part 3 of the UK election series)

The UK will hold a general election in June, which will determine what party will form the next government and who will be the next Prime Minister.

For more information, see some of the latest UK political news, and a brief explanation of how a general election works

In a previous survey, SC users showed that they were pretty good at predicting the outcome of the US presidential election. So let's see if you're as good at forecasting the results of the British election!

(This is a different question to asking who you would vote for, or who you want to win - I'm asking for your predictions, not your opinions!)

I've only listed the two parties that have a realistic hope of winning, but there is an "other" option for the dreamers out there * smile *

This is part 3 of a three-survey series. The others are:

1 - Who would/will you vote for in the British general election?
2 - Who do you want to win the British general election?

Labour by a narrow margin. The Foot and Mouth hasn't been handled very well by the English government. Otherwise it would have been a comfortable margin.

I think G. Cooper said it best when he said Are those people howling for the silencing of John Townend equally vociferous in their condemnation of the openly racist thug, Robert Mugabe? If they are not, isn't this, in itself, a manifestation of racism? As for Townend, whatever one thinks of the man's views, he is far from unique in holding them. If the open discussion of immigration cannot any longer take place, then those who share his views will be polarised towards avowedly racist organisations. Surely, that cannot be for the good of society? There can be no taboo topics in a true democracy.

No idea, I'm sure that if I followed the links, I would respond with the majority, but I couldn't be bothered.

It's looking like another Labour landslide. If the Conservatives can't stop getting into "scrapes" and voter turnout is reasonable (65% +), Labour will win by a fair amount. If turnout is high (75% +), it'll be a landslide. Turnout is predicted to be lower than last time though, ie less than 71% Labour have 50 points in the latest opinion polls. If the election was tomorrow, they'd win by a bigger landslide than last time! * smile *

Though it won't really be Labour who've won the election. It'll be the Tories who've lost it (completely)! * smile * There's going to be a leadership contest in the Tory party if Hague can't cut Labour's majority to 60 seats........ he's not going to do it!

The British Government - not the English! The general public support Labour for putting off the election. Unless there's a huge scandal over the next month involving the Labour party they're going to get a BIG majority again - certainly more than the 60, Mr Hague needs to cut it to to stop a leadership challenge.
