| LindaH | posted 18-Apr-2001 8:52pm A Denver omelette, bacon, sausage, pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, a breakfast biscuit with jam, and a white chocolate raspberry mocha every morning.... I wish!! |
| Iseult | posted 18-Apr-2001 9:48pm I don't eat breakfast, except if it isn't after 11am. In the other case it makes me puke. |
| jettles | posted 18-Apr-2001 10:22pm tea, grapefruit juice, cereal and milk |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 19-Apr-2001 12:39am I usually have one meal shortly before sleeping. When I do breakfast, it's corn flakes with yogurt and chocolate-fruit-nut-trail mix. I used to be real big on waffles. |
| Zang | posted 19-Apr-2001 12:46am Hey! You forgot the hash-browns! I start my day with 3 big mugs of strong coffee with cream and sugar. I smoke a cigarette with each one. I usually don't eat until after I have bathed and dressed. Two eggs basted, two slices of brown toast buttered, and some hash-browns. I like to drink grapefruit juice too. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Zang) posted 19-Apr-2001 12:53am That's almost exactly my breakfast, particularly the 3 strong syrupy coffes with 3 home-machine rolled cigarettes. Sometimes I'll cook up cottage fries or eggs-chipotle-alfredo. |
| Maarten | posted 19-Apr-2001 2:19am No breakfast |
| msgman | posted 19-Apr-2001 8:00am On a typical working day, I'll have a glass of fruit juice (usually mixed tropical juices, but sometimes plain orange), a bowl of cereal (usually either Crunchy-nut Cornflakes, Weetabix or Cheerios), and a slice of toast. Plus a large mug of steaming hot tea! I wash and get dressed before breakfast, then walk up to the newsagents to get a newspaper to read while I'm eating it. (Eating breakfast that is, not eating the newspaper At the weekend, I'll usually treat myself to an old-fashioned English fry-up - eggs, bacon, fried bread, sausages, toast and mushrooms. |
| Enheduanna | posted 19-Apr-2001 10:44am Tea, and either grits or cold cereal, and sometimes veggie sausages. |
| lelle | posted 19-Apr-2001 12:02pm Coffee, and usually water to drink. To eat, either oatmeal with raisins and cinnamon boiled in, with milk on it, or a toasted biscuit or toast with jam and cream cheese. I ought to eat better breakfast. |
| jkiehart | posted 19-Apr-2001 2:58pm My breakfast generally consists of green tea, apple juice, oatmeal, and a piece of fruit. Sometimes I jazz it up with egg whites when I need more protein (that'd be when I'm hungover), but as a general rule, the fruit and oatmeal have enough protein. |
| jkiehart | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 19-Apr-2001 3:00pm I LOVE grits! |
| Jemmy | posted 19-Apr-2001 3:30pm Hot chocolate and a muffin with raspberry jelly on it. Or a cinnamon waffle. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to jkiehart) posted 19-Apr-2001 3:58pm Yummy! I have to admit, I usually make the instant ones, because I just don't have the time or inclination to make the "real" ones. My grandmother (a Texan) used to make them when I was little. She made the instant ones, too--I'm sure her mother was rolling over in her grave! |
| Zang | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 19-Apr-2001 4:02pm What happened to the yoghurt, granola, and fresh fruit? |
| jkiehart | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 19-Apr-2001 4:15pm I've never even found the normal, long-cooking grits. Though, here in NYC even instant is hard to find. Remember "My Cousin Vinny" where they were all indignant about a true Southerner never using instant? Funny movie. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Zang) posted 19-Apr-2001 5:36pm I go on binges. and since I shop by bicycle (& other reasons), I'm reluctant to shop often. So usually milk & cereal is not an enduring option. I've meant for a year now to repair my waffle iron (I cleaned all the parts so far, just havent reassembled). |
| Biggles | posted 19-Apr-2001 5:41pm A glass of water. I know I should eat more but I can't get it down me throat at 7am......... |
| Biggles | posted 19-Apr-2001 5:43pm Oh, but most Sundays my mum makes pancakes (the large thin, flat ones not the Scotch ones or the ones they seem to eat in America) which I have with a little lemon juice and sugar. |
| HareKrishna | posted 20-Apr-2001 12:50am Yoguit with wheat germ, dates prunes & sultanas. |
| darkshadowsseeker | posted 20-Apr-2001 4:27am Though, I'd like someone to tell me how to eat fruit juice. I know how to drink it-but not eat it. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to jkiehart) posted 20-Apr-2001 10:00am I do indeed remember that scene. Frequently when I'm making grits, in fact. They have both kinds here--the "old fashioned" ones (Quaker makes them) only take about 20 minutes. I'm assuming those are "real" grits, but I'm not even sure. |
| jkiehart | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 20-Apr-2001 10:49am I don't see why anyone would think they're gross, they're just like Cream of Wheat, in my book, but instead it's... cream of corn! |
| Enheduanna | (reply to jkiehart) posted 20-Apr-2001 12:49pm I guess some people just don't like things hot and creamy. |
| jkiehart | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 20-Apr-2001 1:26pm mmmmm... hot 'n creeeeeeeeeeamy......... |
| juliw | posted 22-Apr-2001 5:53pm I usually don't eat breakfast on work days, except for my morning can of pop. If I do have something to eat, it is a danish, candy bar, or cheese crackers from the machine at work. On weekends, I usually have a can of soup or some other heat and eat food (canned stew or ravioli) . Today, i actually had traditional "breakfast food": scrambled eggs, sausage, and home fries. My sister had the day off work, and felt like making breakfast for all of us. |
| bcollins | posted 23-Apr-2001 2:03am Usually just tea and toast. My stomach isn't awake yet. |
| Violet | posted 23-Apr-2001 11:14am Yogurt, and sometimes some fruit, too. A bagel, if I have more time. And of course, my daily dose of caffeine. |
| Annette | posted 25-Apr-2001 1:41am I like to eat mini ice cream sandwiches for breakfast, and cereal for dinner. |
| sunshine | posted 30-Apr-2001 10:21pm I don't really eat the water, and the butter goes on the toast. |
| Cleo | posted 18-May-2001 12:19am I love breakfast!!!Waffles/pancakes with lots& lots of butter.NO syrup.Eggs soft scrambled,Chinese sausage/extra crispy bacon.Please!But not on a work day,no time.As I'm running out the door I'll grab a tall tupperware cup of green tea. |
| natsim | posted 4-Jun-2001 3:13am Toast with Vegemite. Espresso coffee. Orange Juice. Toast with marmelade. Sometimes I have crumpets! |
| daver | posted 12-Jun-2001 1:46pm While I usually have some fairly strong coffee with my morning biscuit, it's not strong enough to eat. |
| happyme | posted 19-Jul-2001 10:33pm yum i love breakfast food |
| happyme | posted 19-Jul-2001 10:39pm I always have a cup of coffee with milk first thing, my dad brings it up to me in the morning. Then i have my shower, then go downstairs and get more coffee. During school my mom makes me a fruit smoothie with protein powder, but over the summer i fend for myself. I usually have cold cereal, but i love pancakes and especially Brugger's Bagels. |
