Have you ever cut a banana before you peeled it, without cutting the peel?

This can be done. I'll explain how after a few people have answered the survey. If you know how, please don't give it away.

I learned how from a Ripley's Believe it or Not book.

I haven't done it, but I remember reading about it when I was a kid. I think it involves a piece of wire. It was a long time ago.

Yes. Didn't we have this survey a couple years ago?
Have you ever eaten oranges with the skin removed from the wedges? Delectable.
I have so little counter that I slice most of fruits & veggies over the pan.

Oh, I can feel the tension growing. How much more do you think people can take?

Yes, but only once. After that, the novelty wore off.

Some people think it's neat that I can snap-in-two a ripe (not mushy) banana without smashing it. * cool grin *

So did I! Must've been about 15-20 years ago for me.

I suppose you could use wire, but using thread or very thin string is preferred--it's much more flexible.

You'll note how carefully I worded the question...

perhaps some kind of sophisticated cullinary laserbeam, then...

Perhaps, but nothing that complicated is required to accomplish this simple task.

I think I may still have the book. I guess I'll have to check through the boxes in my closet. Too many books & not enough bookcases. * frown *

I know how it's done but I don't like bananas, so no.

I still haven't found the book, but have about 6 more boxes to go through when I have time. I'm pretty certain I bought most of my Ripley books sometime in the 70's.

I hope your not going to dig through boxes of books to relocate a ripley's passage on slicing bananas in the peel.

Not just for that reason. I haven't read my Ripley books in a while.

You can do it with a needle and thread.
