I think some leopards can change their spots if they really want to badly enough, but I think it happens only rarely.

I agree with the proverb. It is hard to totally reinvent yourself.

There have been many shy introverted nerdy teens who end up becoming outgoing, charismatic and influential. If that isn't a reinvention, I'm not sure what it is.

I don't really understand the proverb. If its to be taken literally, then yes, I agree. But there's a lot of different ways you could think of this question and I just don't get it.

With a spiritual awakening, I think people can change. Under other circumstances, it would depend on many variables. I think after a certain age, some things are too ingrained into one's being, making them unable to change. To answer the question, as some have answered it, some can, some can never.

I'd say I agree - a leopard can't change his spots. But I think a leopard can change other things. I just saw the Lion King so I know that lions can choose to be vegetarians (and dance and sing too). Then again, those are lions, not leopards. But the point is, I think there are some things you can change and some you can't.

What other way can there be besides the "proverbial sense"?

Well duh a leopard can't literally change its spots, so it's OBVIOUSLY the "proverbial" way.

Most people can change their spots--particularly if they want to badly enough. I think that it is extremely damaging to the good intentions of motivated leopards to tell them that they can't change. Of course, there are a few people who are f-BLEEP-in' evil through and through and wouldn't want to change, but they are few and far between.

I feel fairly strongly that a person can completely change themselves, their brain chemistry, their actions and reactions to people and situations, as well as all of their attitudes and behaviors. What you can't always change is how other people see you.

i do believe that a person can change if he or she wants to bad enough. Hence organizations like Na and AA are founded that people can change.

If I understand this choice correctly, I believe that people can change but many variables affect this ability and likelihood, both internal to the leopard and external, making it a leopard by leopard basis (some will/some won't)
