| sequel | posted 12-Apr-2001 6:40pm How useful is this comparison when the norming has changed recently? |
| Jane | posted 12-Apr-2001 6:42pm I'll know in about 14 hours! Wish me luck! |
| juliw | posted 12-Apr-2001 6:46pm don't remember |
| Jane | (reply to sequel) posted 12-Apr-2001 6:47pm what do you mean? What is the norming now, compared to what it was then? As for usefulness, I don't know, I just want to find out how you all did on the SATs, even if it is different now. I took mine a few weeks ago, so I'm interested on what you all have to say about the test or your scores. |
| Zang | posted 12-Apr-2001 8:21pm They don't do this in Canada. |

| micah | (reply to mandy) posted 12-Apr-2001 10:06pm Was it an evil test? Quasi-evil? The diet Coke of evil? |
| mandy | (reply to micah) posted 12-Apr-2001 10:15pm It was so evil it had horns. |
| romkey | (reply to mandy) posted 12-Apr-2001 10:32pm my car is evil then |
| jettles | (reply to micah) posted 12-Apr-2001 10:34pm horns and snorted smoke!!! |

| dab | posted 12-Apr-2001 11:29pm My SAT scores were kinda mediocre. When I got to college and found out what my classmates got, I was severely outclassed. But I made it through, with decent grades, while some of them did not. Thus I don't put a lot of faith in the predictive power of SAT scores regarding college success. |
| darkshadowsseeker | posted 13-Apr-2001 12:22am I took these over 30 years ago. I could not possible remember. |
| Strider | posted 13-Apr-2001 12:46am We only do this in canada if applying to a us university, ortherwise we have no reason to do so. |
| Biggles | posted 13-Apr-2001 9:33am SATs in the UK are tests you take at 6/7, 10/11 and 13/14. They check that standards of education in schools are high enough. It's strange that an acronym can mean something very similar yet very different in 2 very similar yet very different countries! |
| TeddyMiller | posted 13-Apr-2001 11:48am 800 math, 760 verbal. |
| drdt | posted 13-Apr-2001 1:33pm 1410. I remember I really sucked at the Language portion because I was completely unable to grok analogies. |
| they | posted 13-Apr-2001 1:46pm Nobody ever informed me of an opportunity to take one. I wish I had. |
| they | posted 13-Apr-2001 1:47pm They recently published a bunch of celebrities SAT scores in Time magazine. Ben Stein's were almost perfect. Gore's were much higher than George W. Bush. |
| Zang | (reply to they) posted 13-Apr-2001 3:14pm I saw Cheech Marin on celebrity Jeopardy. He kicked ass! Most of the contestants on that version of the show are idiots. |
| Jemmy | posted 13-Apr-2001 5:00pm I don't do SAT's. |
| Jemmy | (reply to Jane) posted 13-Apr-2001 5:02pm Good luck! |
| sequel | (reply to Jane) posted 13-Apr-2001 5:41pm Here: http://www.dpi.state.nc.us/accountability/reporting/sat/1998/sat_98_report.html#recentering Basically, it was harder to get a high score before the recentering. |
| spidertea | posted 13-Apr-2001 6:15pm Never took the SATS, only the ACTS. |
| micah | (reply to mandy) posted 13-Apr-2001 10:57pm That's quite a test. Did you....detest that test? |

| micah | (reply to mandy) posted 14-Apr-2001 7:13am Of what did it consist? ...and how long did it persist? |
| SueBee | posted 14-Apr-2001 3:15pm I don't remember. Does anyone know if my high school would still have that on record from over 20 years ago? Now I'm curious. |

| Jane | (reply to Jemmy) posted 12-Jun-2001 4:48pm Thanks! I think you need more like a 1300 for Ivy League, but my score is what I need for most places I want to go. |
