| nasale | posted 9-Apr-2001 11:01pm Yes. I wouldn't get caught DEAD with MS. magazine. Even good old Gloria Steinhem(?) caved in! |
| natsim | posted 9-Apr-2001 11:32pm There's a lot of magazines I wouldn't want to be seen reading - especially those magazines that I wouldn't normally choose to read. |
| Zang | posted 10-Apr-2001 12:42am Nothing comes to mind. Porn? No. Modern Bride? No. Tiger Beat? No. People? No. |
| darkshadowsseeker | posted 10-Apr-2001 12:55am It would probably depend on where I was at. If it was porn/hard core stuff, I wouldn't want to be seen with it at work. Not out of embarrassment, but because I would get in trouble with the supervisor. Our company is owned by Mormons. |
| Maarten | posted 10-Apr-2001 6:09am O |
| jettles | posted 10-Apr-2001 9:19am not really i don't think. there are plenty of magazines i just wouldn't read but i don't think if i was looking at something i would be embarrassed to be reading it. |
| Biggles | posted 10-Apr-2001 9:31am Yes, and I'd be ashamed to be seen with a tabloid newspaper too. |
| jkiehart | posted 10-Apr-2001 10:35am Any fashion magazine. They're insulting. |
| ASexyBabe | posted 10-Apr-2001 11:04am Where am I at? |
| ASexyBabe | posted 10-Apr-2001 11:14am Am I at home? At work? At a mall? At a restaraunt? It really depends. |
| Maarten | (reply to ASexyBabe) posted 10-Apr-2001 11:21am I guess in a public place where other people can see you read for example Hustler. |
| ASexyBabe | (reply to Maarten) posted 10-Apr-2001 12:01pm I wish the survey creator would have been more specific. |
| Enheduanna | posted 10-Apr-2001 12:06pm Guns and Ammo. I'd probably be embarrassed to be seen holding porn, too. |
| supplicant | posted 10-Apr-2001 1:16pm Fashion magazines, teen magazines etc. etc. - anything vapid in other words. But since there's no reason for me to ever be holding them that shouldn't prove a problem. Porn, fetish mags etc. etc. don't bother me. |
| Iseult | posted 10-Apr-2001 2:10pm No. Why would I care what people think about what am I reading? |
| spidertea | posted 10-Apr-2001 2:53pm I don't think so. I don't read anything that would be embarrassing. |
| kaleb777 | posted 10-Apr-2001 3:25pm Yes. Outrage, or any othe gay mag. |
| kaleb777 | (reply to spidertea) posted 10-Apr-2001 3:29pm So you wouldn't have a problem being seen reading a bestiality magazine? |
| Jemmy | posted 10-Apr-2001 4:41pm Playboy, maybe. |
| juliw | posted 10-Apr-2001 5:33pm A couple times, I have been browsing at bookstores, and picked up a magazine with an unfamiliar title, only to find it was a "girlie" magazine for men, or a magazine targeted at people with an alternative lifestyle (gays), so I just put it back quickly. I guess the only time I would be embarrassed to be holding a magazine would be if I was trying to steal it from the doctor's office or something, and got caught. |
| confetti | posted 10-Apr-2001 8:56pm "People". No offense to anyone, but whenever someone sees me reading that magazine I feel like the biggest gossipy and materialistic person out there. Ugh. |
| confetti | (reply to Maarten) posted 10-Apr-2001 8:58pm "O" sucks! |
| mandy | posted 10-Apr-2001 11:12pm In public? Yes, a few actually, mostly porn. |
| Gamera | (reply to Enheduanna) posted 11-Apr-2001 1:31am So I guess that mag (I can't remember the name of it) of naked bimbos with big knives and automatic weapons, is right out? |
| BlueberryMuffin | posted 11-Apr-2001 4:19am I'd be a little embarrassed if I was caught reading anything targeted specifically for my gender and age group. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to Gamera) posted 11-Apr-2001 10:25am Pretty much. |
| Mariah | posted 11-Apr-2001 12:02pm I can't think of any specific one's off the top of head, but yes. Maybe a hunting magazine or Fundamentalist Weekly. Anything that completely goes against my beliefs. Funny enough, I have been seen several times holding/reading the National Enquirer and was never embarassed. |
| mary | posted 11-Apr-2001 6:17pm I don't think so.... |
| callen610 | posted 11-Apr-2001 10:22pm Yes, Playboy for example... |
| Maarten | (reply to confetti) posted 12-Apr-2001 5:09am Just like Oprah does! |
| confetti | (reply to Maarten) posted 12-Apr-2001 1:52pm I can't stand her. She's so..."spiritualness in a can" like. |
| SueBee | posted 15-Apr-2001 7:57pm National Enquirer and other such trash. |
| Maarten | (reply to confetti) posted 17-Apr-2001 8:30am She makes me vomit with her fake tears all the time. |
| confetti | (reply to Maarten) posted 18-Apr-2001 12:09am I'll say. |
| smurf | posted 23-Apr-2001 3:10am Yes, anything grotty like Playgirl/boy, or a mag like that. Gross. I wouldn't ever be seen with any trash like that! I don't touch the stuff! |
