You forgot driving between two lanes (along the line, and thereby occupying both lanes)... unless I just didn't see it in that large list!

I don't drive a car, but what annoys me is people talking on cell phones (dangerous!), being yelled at from young males in cars, obscene gestures being given for no apparent reason, being cut off, and being honked at for no reason.

Hogging the fast lane (annoying and rude)
Tailgating (dangerous)
Unrestrained children (unsafe - the grownups should know better!)
Littering (disgusting pigs)
Excessive smoke (stinky pollution)

People talking on cell phones who are driving erratically or unsafely annoy me, and it's very upsetting to me when people don't have their loads tied down properly.

I didn't know if that term was universal. I should have asked. In Australia people who speed through suburban streets to avoid congestion on main arterials are called rat runners. There have been moves to put traffic calming devices such as speed humps and traffic islands throughout residential streets that are used for this purpose.

I didn't think of anything to do with climatic conditions. It never snows here so I have never experienced that. It sounds annoying.

Well, we're in the same time zone, but I'm way up in Washington, between Seattle and the Canadian border. Kristal Rose lives much closer to you. (L. A. area, I believe.)

Washington,WOW!! That's God's country!! I hear it's REALLY BEAUTIFUL up there.Have you lived there all your life? If I had the time/$$$ I would like to drive up the cost to Washington just to take in the splendor & awesome beauty of it all.If someone hasn't already done a survey on "Where would you like to visit/live if you had the means to & where would it be?"they should.I would go on endlessly on ALL the places in my minds eye.& oh,yes I was just chatting with Kristal a moment ago,on another survey in SC,"Post Your Pic" How E.S.P. of you.WOW!!!Scarey....

I was born in Seattle, and I've lived here all my life except the years I was in Germany and then Texas with my now ex-husband. I do love it here. Non-natives tend to get really sick of the rain though. (Well, so do the natives, but not as much as people who aren't used to it.) But at least everything's green. I love the exotic look of the palm trees in southern California!

Oooohhh. How can any one possibly tire of rain I love rain,it makes everything fresh, clean & green.(except of course if it's beyond the norm.) I lived in an area in Honolulu called the Pali/Nuuanu where it rained everyday at least twice a day. But,that was ONLY in that particular spot. The rest of the island wasn't as wet & rainy as there. Some times it would be like so sunny, then all of a sudden it would just start raining(literally) out of the blue. The tourist would blow their minds...Cali.isn't quite like Honolulu but,it's close enough. I miss my native home. :`(

It's not the rain so much as the grey cloudy days that go along with it that tend to get people down in the dumps. When it rains around here, it often is grey and rainy all day, or for days at a time. I'm guessing that in Hawaii it rained a lot, but then the sun would come out a little later? I think that makes a big difference. Not seeing the sun through the clouds for weeks at a time gets old.

(reply to SueBee) posted 21-May-2001 12:41am
Oooooohhh. That is a bummer I guess. But yeah your right! The sun would come out after a while.& sometimes like I said it would sometimes rain even on a bright sunny day.It was quite comical to see the tourist faces.

This was a good one!! One of my choices was "Opening car doors without checking for traffic or cyclists" because I am an active cyclist and have had too many close calls in towns - good thing I'm moving to where it's nice and empty with windy forest roads. I don't drive but when I'm in the car it is really annoying when people in SUV's make a huge tidal wave when they splash through a huge puddle and totally soak the surrounding smaller cars.
