Uhm... lets see... I am special... I guess that's it. Well the only thing that is different from other girls is that I totally have no feelings.

I cry during nature shows when the mommy animal raises and loves her babies, and then one dies.
And I am usually covered in ferret and dog hair.

God is bigger than the boogie man
He's bigger than Godzilla, or the monsters on tv
Oh, God is bigger than the boogie man
And He's watching out for you and me * smile *

And he showed Larry the Cucumber & Junior Asparagus that:

When their lying in their beds
And the furniture starts creeping
They can laugh and say, "Hey, cut that out!"
And get back to their sleeping ...

I'd say it's the 30lb. sac of fluid hanging from the side of my face. I think of that as kind of unique in a way....sets me apart.....makes me an individual, you know?

It means that I can feel nothing. Well not really nothing, but something like that. I can hate, despise, abhore, etc. adore, respect, feel sorry for, but I can't love.

Physically? I have a somewhat distinctive scar on my back. Other than that....wow, it's actually kind of sad, really, I'm sitting here and I can't think of anything else that makes me unique, personality wise. I'm so typical, how depressing...

You can't love? I don't understand. Did something horrible and traumatic happen to you in childhood? Love is a very basic emotion for me, but I had a loving mother. Did your mother not nurture you? I'm not being sarcastic, I am sincerely curious.

Yeah, you're right. I know that I am a unique person, I just feel like sometimes too closely resemble the people I hang out with. But I guess that's just on the surface. I'd say I'm unique because of my personal beliefs, and I guess i do have a lot of subtle little quirks.

No, nothing happened to me. How come, didn't you ever met any of those people, totally cold towards everything?
spidertea
(reply to hildagard) posted 7-Apr-2001 8:24pm
Yes, I have met one person like that. His name is Tom. We were in rehab at the same time together. He talked about how he skinned cat's backs just for fun. He talked about being in a gang and shooting at "niggers" and Mexicans, Chinese, etc. One day while the counselor was out of the room, he picked me up (I was really little then because I had been doing methanphetamines) and tried to rape me and beat me up. I reported him and he went to jail. He escaped with another inmate. He ended up shooting that inmate point blank between the eyes. The guy lived. Tom went back to jail. He was released one month ago. Now he is back in jail because last week he broke into a man's house, robbed him with a sawed off shot gun and beat him over the head with a brass lamp. He is the only person I have ever met that is completely void of all love and emotion.
That is why I said your statement scares me.

Ok, but you must agree, I don't think that a normal person, even if he/she is not capable of feeling anything would do all that stuff.

(reply to hildagard) posted 8-Apr-2001 1:28pm
A person "not capable of feeling anything" is not even close to being normal. And yes, people who are "normal" in every way except being unable to feel anything do often end up doing that kind of stuff. Because, hey, why not?

I'm the one being totally myself, and being totally nonjudgemental when others are being themselves. I guess there's lots of people like that. But I'm also a real mellow person who doesn't honk my horn at rude drivers, who shrugs people off who cut in line, and who can ignore it when people get loud. I'm one who chooses my battles carefully. If you get bossy or suspicious on innocent people, you'll know where my mellow attitude ends. * smile *

I thought about his a lot this weekend while on retreat, actually, it was kind of funny. One thing I realized is that basically everyone I interact with on any kind of regular basis is genuine, real, and sincere. It's wonderful and I'm so grateful for it. To hear how much people complain about butt-holes in their lives, makes me realize that I just don't have that problem. There are no bad-guys in my world.

As for characteristics of myself, well, I paint and find that work to be very rich and rewarding (in all but the pecuniary fashion). My work always challenges me, and always stimulates me. People tell me that my face is very attractive and my skin very soft. Also, I am 225 lbs, and only 5'-4" tall which I suspect is a bit distinctive looking. I have a characteristic which some people call "refreshingly straight-forward," and others call "oppressive and over-bearing." Some people call me "incredibly insightful and thoughtful," while other people call me "careless of other people's needs and boundaries." I'm sure there are other people on whom I make no impression at all, but I don't hear anything back from them.
