| Dahlia | posted 2-Dec-1997 1:11am I majored in Social.. and while I have now chnged and am in a science program.. I would do the Social program again. I found that I learnt a lot and I don't think that I would be doing as well in the scince program had I not taken it. |
| Jaime | posted 2-Dec-1997 2:52am Yes! (Computing) |
| bill | posted 2-Dec-1997 12:22pm If I had to do it all over, I would start as a Computer Science major (instead of starting as Electrical Engineering then switching to Comp Sci). |
| Jimmy | posted 2-Dec-1997 1:09pm I just finished my first semester, so I'm not quite disillusioned with Comp Sci yet... |
| fiore | posted 2-Dec-1997 2:03pm I would have majored in finance and computer science(I chose CS and ECON), and would have gone in to Equity Research or Investment Banking. I do enjoy CS. |
| Tonya | posted 2-Dec-1997 5:48pm no, a fine arts degree gets you no where I did learn a lot, but the degree gets me no where in my job |
| steve | posted 2-Dec-1997 6:55pm Biology, and I love it. |
| ear | posted 2-Dec-1997 7:42pm Manufacturing Engineering (B.S. & M.S.) - it combines Mech Eng, Comp Sci, Elec Eng, and Management (quality/production control). This way, I get to learn about all the things I like and it allows me to interface well with engineers from lots of backgrounds. It's also handy for the robotics competitions I help run. |
| jennj | posted 2-Dec-1997 7:47pm This doesn't apply fully for me - I'm a two year student at a community school - I'm liberal arts - it's the way to go because it transfers so nicely! |
| babeeco | posted 2-Dec-1997 8:20pm I did do it all over again, and I picked another college major, i.e. nursing. First time around I picked education. |
| gjmiii | posted 2-Dec-1997 8:54pm I am a teacher, for 34 years, and it isn't fun anymore. For many years it was agreat job, but with the lack of work ethic and the parents who do not want to put in the time with their kids - forget it! |
| Twanger | posted 2-Dec-1997 10:03pm Seeing as how i'm currently a freshman in college, i dont think i'd want it all to do over again quite yet. (physics). |
| jcdino | posted 3-Dec-1997 9:50pm Yes. Of course, I'm still _in_ college... |
| seanhuxter | posted 4-Dec-1997 11:26am My major was Computer Science, (with a Minor in English Literature. The only person to go through my college with that combination.) So I actually have a Bachelor of ARTS in Computer SCIENCE. Many people think that's weird. Most CS majors I knew couldn't even spell and took their MINIMUM required Lit courses. I used to get mostly As in Lit, but generally only Bs in CS. |
| mcarlos | posted 5-Dec-1997 7:49pm it was the best major for combining writing, theory, and practice at my college ... political science. |
| Atzilut | posted 8-Dec-1997 11:52am WPI, BS Physics 1991 UNH, MS Physics 1994 |
| dvmike | posted 9-Dec-1997 10:48am GIVEN THE MIND SET AT THE TIME WE WOULD STILL MAKE THE SAME CHOICES, HOWEVER RIGHT OR WRONG. YOU CAN'T GO HOME AGAIN. |
| hunter | posted 9-Dec-1997 8:08pm Probably not at this point. I think I might go for psych or sociology now, or maybe something in the sciences. But Latin American Politics was very interesting. |
| linda | posted 11-Dec-1997 5:31pm yes, but i'd spend more time concentrating on it instead of messing around with computers. |
| quark | posted 11-Dec-1997 6:08pm Well, the few months I was in collage I had a theatre major with a human sexuality minor working to overtake it. They're still some of the most facinating subjects I can think of. Well, come to think of it I might broaden both a bit. Perhaps human interaction and media... |
| Choad | posted 12-Dec-1997 8:28pm Well, maybe... but perhaps a music major. At least a minor. Hrm. |
| seth | posted 12-Dec-1997 10:01pm Yes - Computer Science. But I'd take a lot more classes in other things too. So many interesting things I didn't bother pursuing... |
| jefff | posted 14-Dec-1997 2:45pm I'd switch the Planetary Science to a concentration (ie minor) and get a Design degree. Computer Sci is what I do, but I've never met a CS grad that had anything up on a motivated self-trained individual. |
| Beth | posted 15-Dec-1997 2:13pm I'm currently majoring in Elementary Education/Learning and Behavior Disorders. I plan to become a special ed. teacher for elementary school students. I've always wanted to be a teacher. I hope I am not disappointed when I begin to student teach! |
| gilly | posted 17-Dec-1997 10:55pm I was a psych major. I haven't done much with the degree, but I enjoyed the study, so I suppose I'd do it again. |
| llyra | posted 22-Dec-1997 1:48pm I double-majored in Chemistry and Art. i ended up dropping out of college. If i had to go back, it wout either be to get a dregree in education or art or music. |
| doom | posted 24-Dec-1997 2:55pm Definitely Theatre.. |
| milktree | posted 29-Dec-1997 11:40am I would have taken physics/MechE instead of chemistry |
| Pomeranian | posted 2-Feb-1998 8:32pm I majored in Classical Studies and Philosophy...if I could, I would change it to Philosophy and Computer Sci. with a minor in Classical Studies |
| Timmi | posted 23-Feb-1998 2:01pm If I had it all to do over again, I'd either have a liberal arts degree and be saying "You want fries with that?" for a living or I'd have taken drama and performing arts and be saying "You want fries with that?" for a living. |
| Ophelia | posted 23-Feb-1998 4:23pm Bsc/BEd. I love it! |
| KenShingo | posted 24-Feb-1998 3:35am shoulda taken mathematics.... |
| weth | posted 26-Feb-1998 7:34pm Sure. Double major in Mechanical Engineering and Music. |
| Dolemite | posted 2-Mar-1998 1:47am Currently I major mech. engineering. I wouldn't want it any other way. |
| joe | posted 18-Mar-1998 9:32pm doesnt apply to me i dropped out of high school |
| Artemis | posted 19-Mar-1998 5:31pm Don't have a major so this question doesn't apply to me. |
| julie | posted 26-Apr-1998 3:45pm I am undecalred. It is a good way to start out. |
| nbarone | posted 30-Apr-1998 10:27am Physics - i enjoyed studying it, and i'm still using it |
| jjg | posted 15-May-1998 4:46pm I would go into a professional field. Programming perhaps. |
| daver | posted 16-May-1998 8:54pm Yes, but I'd add stuff (maybe double major) and actually finish it. |
| reality | posted 16-Jun-1998 12:43pm yes, and I would seriously try to not let my objections to the theories get in the way. basically accept it until I can get a degree and try to come up with a better alternative. (if I do this without a degree, then I am simply a crackpot.. with a degree I would be a crackpot with a degree) my major was physics. |
| phi | posted 25-Jun-1998 11:29pm I was a math major, and both the coursework I did and the degree have served me well (math at my school was considerably stronger than CS or engineering) |
| BadtzMaru | posted 8-Jul-1998 12:09pm Geography -- yes |
| eloradanan | posted 2-Jun-2006 12:47am I haven't gone to college. |
| Biggles | posted 2-Aug-2006 8:02pm At the moment I would say yes (Biological Sciences), but perhaps I should answer once I'm a doctor (if I ever am) and decide then whether it was worth doing another degree before medicine. |
| clare | posted 7-Aug-2006 12:49pm Didn't go to college. |
